In 1993, a newly-famous Radiohead was invited to play on MTV. Yet the band found it hard to fit into the channel's cheerful, mainstream atmosphere, resulting in one of the most chaotic concerts in televised history. This is the story of Anyone Can Play Guitar - Live at the MTV Beach House.

This is unironically one of my favourite performances by the band. And I listen to it often

Basically some very bad wiring mistakes would have had to be made in order for there to be any danger whatsoever from touching any type of microphone while wet. And the original version of this story has the production assistant slapping "the sparking mic out of his hand" which is just cartoonishly impossible on a number of levels. so the electrocution aspect of this story is highly suspect. I do believe his boots filled with water though

The "Israeli dj" that played Radiohead on repeat is Yoav Kutner who is the mother and father of israeli rock culture. He played creep and other songs in his daily show, which led to a lot of israeli rock fans loving radiohead. When radiohead visited Israel in '93 the band members were amazed by the love they got from the fans, and got the backwind they needed to keep the band alive.

They were standing on the edge, it was a glorious day, they pulled him out of the lake, and he really was lucky.

Saw Radiohead at the Venue in Oxford 1991 before they were signed. They have always been awesome.

What the hell was going on with Thom’s hair in the early 90’s.

In some different timeline Radiohead were a 1 hit wonder band with the song Creep and Thom was just a trolly weird guy looking weird and creepy.

This is what you get for asking Radiohead to play Creep 4 times in a row.

Weirdly enough, the first time I saw/heard Radiohead was on the Arsenio Hall Show in the early 90's when Creep was getting popular. Apparently Arsenio had heard Radiohead and thought they were going to be the next big thing and HAD to have them on his show. Even though he primarily played rap and R&B.

Don't know what mics they used, but risk of electrocution was probably close to zero.

There's nowhere near enough voltage going through a live mic to cause anyone any harm. (Even with phantom power on, which it shouldn't be for a mic like that.)

The only exception would be if there was a problem with the overall power in the venue, in which case there would have always been danger regardless of the water.

Didn’t know Radiohead were at times bordering on being a bit Punky in the early 90’s.

Radiohead in their early days were unrecognisable from what they would become just a short few years later.

Also when I think of a band that would be good for a party, the band I would least think of is Radiohead, heck Alice In Chains would come into my mind well before Radiohead, and AIC are very bleak. Yeah Radiohead’s Street Spirit will get people moving and bouncing.
