I love that eyeroll Death gives at the end. It's like, "Fine... Keep him. I'll get you both later anyway."

I’ve heard of sopranos shattering glass with their voice but this is the first time I’ve seen a vocalist with the ability to knock things off a wall!! 😁

This song was an absolute masterpiece. The video took it beyond the Stars.

Fun fact. The shoot for this video took way longer than expected, and everybody was getting bored, so Siobhan went for a wander, found the bar and got absolutely smashed on vodka. When she showed up to do her part she could barely stand up, but they went with it and the result was brilliantly and hilariously over the top.

Also, the name Shakepears Sister is the title of a song by The Smiths.

The lady being scary is Siobhan from Bananarama.

Marcella Detroit has an amazing voice. Siobhan Fahey was in Bananarama. Great girl group(s). They didn't speak for 20+ years but are now back together. This track still hold the UK record for longest number 1 by a girl group (8 weeks), unbeatable by the Spice Girls or even Little Mix. They have many hits for you to check out :))

I always loved this song but it became more poignant when I lost my husband. I can't help but shed a tear when I hear it. . 😢 A classic of a song and video.

I haven’t listens to this song in about 30 years and my whole body came out in goose bumps. WOW What a masterpiece ❤

Siouxsie and the Banshees! Bjork! Garbage! L7! Liz Phair! PJ Harvey! So many amazing female artists of the 90's that I would love to see someday.

Marcella Detroit is singing at the start, Siobhan Fahey (formerly of Bananarama) is the other singer

Marcella Detroit could also sing this flawlessly live. I heard them do it twice and each time she hit every single note exactly as you hear it on the recording. Incredible talent.

One of the most magical and beautiful songs ever made. It came out 1992, I was 11 years old. Goosebumps everytime I hear it. ❤

When the second vocalist drops, everything changes. What a unique song. Marcella Detroit is the first vocalist, and Siobhan Fahey is the “Angel of Death”.
♥️✌🏼😎🎭

This song gets more powerful with multiple hearings. Listen to it more than once.

Fun fact: Marcella Detroit, as Marcy Levy, co-wrote Lay Down Sally with Eric Clapton and did backing vocals for him many times. She’s an incredible vocalist and it’s good to see this song tingling spines so many years after its release.

Something in the water over the pond the artists are insanely talented

Virginia Woolf wrote an essay entitled “A Room of One’s Own” in which she contemplates what it would be like ‘if Shakespeare had a sister’ as talented as he. Would her works have been recognized in a world run by men? Would she even be allowed a room in which to write?
Anyway, that’s where the band’s name comes from. A perfect choice for Female Friday.

Sophie B Hawkins "Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover" is a perfect song for female Friday's! Plus a big 90's hit!

Shakespeare's Sister were SO underrated back in their day, and they were AMAZING! The lady with the angelic voice is Marcella Detroit, and the Angel of Death is Siobhan Fahey (pronounced 'Shivorn Faye, ') formerly of another well-known eighties girl group Bananarama. Fun fact: while making this video, Siobhan had to do many hours of waiting around before she got to shoot her bit, so she passed the time drinking... a lot. If you were thinking she looked drunk while she was performing in this, that's because... she was!
Other songs of theirs I can recommend: 'You're History, ' 'I Don't Care, ' 'Hello (Turn Your Radio On)...'

As a teenager of the 90s, it’s so cool to see y’all discovering this video for the first time. Such a uniquely beautiful song! ❤⭐️
