This whole album is exceptional. I listened to it more times than I can count in college. Van is an artist, poet, musician...and sounds like nobody else. Glad to see another generation get to know this underrated and amazing artist.

From Van's Moondance album from 1970.
This was written about an experience Van had when he was 12 years in Ireland. After a day of fishing, they stopped to ask for a drink of water at a home in the village. The man said he had stream water he could share. Five minutes after drinking it, Van said he slipped into another dimension and had a mystical experience. He said it made him appreciate nature to the fullest.
Beautiful vocals by Van, and wonderful horns and guitars make for a satisfying peaceful tune. Great reaction. Buckets of Maple Syrup love from Canada ❤️ ❤️ 🇨🇦🇨🇦

There is not a weak song on this wonderful album, Moondance. I love it as much today as when it was released in early 1970 and many of the songs still get lots of airplay on my memory sticks while I'm driving. I remember looking at the liner notes as I always did when I tore open the cellophane on a new album jacket and I recall reading about Van's wife, Janet Planet, perhaps one of the coolest names I've ever heard!

"Wild Night" is an awesome Van Morrison tune. Timeless voice. I could still cruise to it today. And it's got horns!

My impression was "Stoned Me" was he was blown away and how simple and beautiful life is.

In my 57 years on this planet, I haven't heard a Van Morrison song I dislike. Van the man is faultless.

Every time I hear this song.. I get a Huckleberry Finn vibe. I can just imagine Van as a kid, with his buddy, hanging out and walking around the Ireland countryside in the summer time. He just puts those clear images in your mind with his lyrics and sincere vocals.

One of those people who can't really be categorized. A singer who also writes. Well respected.

I've always liked the horn work in this song. It's not over powering but really adds to the tune.

This is actually my favourite of his songs. He has so many great ones, but I love the storytelling of this one

A true artist, Van Morrison, a prince of Irish Soul... Into theMystic, Someone Like You, Warm Love, Days Like This, Tupelo Honey and some earlier tunes like Domino, Wild Night, Moondance. The more you listen, the more it takes you away... love your reactions to so many different songs. Thank you for reintroducing me to my music era...

I can listen to Van Morrison over and over. Into the Mystic is my favorite, too.

Classic Van Morrison. That whole album is great. You really gotta try Moondance from this album. His jazz self really comes out.

One of the great albums of all-time and yet somehow forgotten is Van Morrison's "Astral Weeks." Songs from that album to consider are "Astral Weeks", "Besides You", "Sweet Thing", "Cyprus Avenue "The Way Young Lovers Do" and "Madame George."

To hear him before he was so mellow, Van sang lead for a band called Them in the 60’s - recommend Baby Please Don’t Go and Here Comes The Night

He also recorded an actual country song called Once A Day - it’s great!

Van Morrison wrote and sang "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You" which Rod Stewart also recorded but Van wrote it as a prayer to God. His is the only version that I listen to.

You definitely hit the nail on the head with this song and my other two favorites are Tupelo Honey and Into The Mystic
