It was very weird to film a video in russian countryside. People aren't used to russian youtubers and especially to those that speak English. I will tell you about russian villages and their way of life and what kinds of places can you see if you travel to Russia.

〰️Emgris about Russia〰️

I do travel a lot and meet lots of people from different countries and various backgrounds. But all of them ask me a great deal of questions about Russia: stereotypes and mentality, history and culture, as well as tips on how to travel to Russia. Is it safe? How can we take a Trans-Siberian Railway trip? What can we see in Moscow and St Petersurg? And so on and so forth...

That's why I started a channel. To tell you about my country and how I see things being Russian.

Your English is excellent - I hope to speak Russian one day half as well as you speak English. One pronunciation tip, in the word "prosperous", the accented syllable is the first, not the second. (I only mention it because you used the word multiple times...so I thought you would want to know.) Keep up the great work!

Always love it when vloggers go out to the Russian countryside. Often more interesting than the big city.

I can only imagine your parents are so proud of you. Thank you for showing the little village in such a charming fashion. In the US we also have small towns just like this. Many small factories closed years ago and forced people to the cities for work. I did think that I would like to go fishing in that place with the 'noise'. That swirling pool probably has some big fish hiding in it that only a 'good' fisherman will catch. Take care from Syracuse, NY, USA.

My own town in Michigan USA had a sugar beet processing factory that had a fancy Victorian facade like that one in your town. It was just a kilometre from where I live now, it was torn down about 1984, as the farmers could make more money growing corn and soy beans.

For non-Russians here, word-to-word translation the word “glubinka” is “deep inside” (while usually it translates as “countryside”). Just thought it’s funny and worth to mention

Я родился в США, а мамина бабушка и дедушка - славянского происхождения. Я заметил в детстве, что им всегда нравилось уезжать из города и возвращаться на природу. По моему это важная и неотъемлемая часть славянской души. Огромное спасибо за это потрясающее видео!

Yes drinking alcohol over building a bridge, that's a funny history. I still remember me almost being to late for my flight from Riga to Netherlands. In the night I was running with suitcase in my hands and didn't look where I was running but didn't expect to trip over a drunk guy sleeping right in front of the main entrance. Luckily my suitcase took the blow of hitting face forward on the floor.... :P

Is this "too Russian" story used as a cautionary tale? In my father's small town there was a man who inherited money. They say he was lighting cigars from the fireplace with $100 paper money to impress everyone. And, he was penniless a year later. It seems these are our own local mythologies to help guide us. Interesting video overall. What was the name of the village? I couldn't hear that one spot in the audio. Thanks!
