The prices and MSRPs for many products have increased in the US over the past years, but with them being so gradual and with online pricing I doubt many have noticed.

As China develops it needs a place to move the low end manufacturing to, ASEAN is perfectly placed in terms of population, being close to the wider Chinese supply chain, and filled with coastal countries.
The hurdles will be bad infrastructure. and This is where the Belt and Road Initiative comes in. the RCEP, the largest free trade agreement in history between China, Japan, Korea, ASEAN, Australia and New Zealand will further facilitate the mutually beneficial relationship.
The biggest hurdle will be sabotage from Americans and their client states.

Thank you comment section raising this point, it is NOT about Communism at all.
PRC is ruled by a 'Communist' party, yes, but it is simply an honorary name that the party has kept for the legitimacy of governing the country, the current system and policies look nothing Communistic. (ex. Privatization of land) Even Canada has some policies closer to Socialism than China.

The current Chinese government is a Responsive Authoritarian running on State Capitalism, with a goal aiming for a Chinese version of Socialist Democracy. (Yea you can ignore the last part if by democracy you think it means vote-per-person. It's not the same meaning.)

China has 31 provinces, and if we put Vietnam's gdp into these provinces' gdp rank, Vt would be 22nd.. A little bit higher than XinJiang.. Consider Vt's population is 5-times more than XinJiang, I have to say, it's still has a pretty loong way to go.

Ha! how many of those manufacturing plants in Vietnam are fully/part owned by Chinese nationals or ethnic Han Vietnamese nationals with connections to the mainland? The only way to win this trade war is to find businessmen that are honest and won't compromise their beliefs for a quick buck. Once you find that person good luck with them sticking to their guns when competitors will have no such issues earning a quick buck.
