Love your boat, simple and effective. I love boats that don't need a lot of effort, they just work.

this is great seeing these kinds of videos as a new tech in the field with no master tech to lean all of these little things that save big time. Really Appreciate this!

You know this gentleman gets so excited when 7s confronted with a problem. His mind works methodically noting the details of the problem until he has his problem well defined. You know he has schematics in his mind. What a wonderfully talented gentleman.

Gone are the days when not getting WOT was fixed by cleaning a carburetor.
Now you need a laptop to figure out which sensor has failed.

☹️☹️☹️ Great video Aaron! Glad you found out where you lost your WOT 😁😁😁 We finally have a weekend up here in Puget Sound region above 80 degrees! You'd think I'd have my boat in the water, but no I'm still buffing out the gel coat 😆

My older carb Honda 90hp outboards did just that the last time I was out and surely the trim was the culprit. It acted erratic and on starboard was corroded solid in the up position.

Happened the same with my mercury motors. Had those sensor bypassed by local tech. Now perfect!

Oh you don't know what's going on? That's the new green deal gas limiter. A.K.A. The Bidenator / build back better BSer. You don't need to worry about ICE propulsion much longer. Sailboats are the future. But they won't have sails only windmills on them that will power a minkota. Keep your head down the blades are sharp.

Awesome video, quick question do you know if this also applies to Yamaha and Honda engines?

Funny enough my 2016 Robalo with a F150XB is having the same issue. WOT is limited to 2300 rpm and 9.5mph. The throttle feels stiff as well. Currently waiting for the marina to look at it.

Thank you so much for the details! I’m having the same type of issues on of my twins 150 mercury four stroke.

Had one fail on a 150hp merc this week. Limited engine to about 2500rpm. Customer couldn’t believe a trim sender would cause the problem. It’s unfortunate the way the sensor circuits are wired on the newer stuff that it can’t just be unplugged. Reducing engine power over a faulty trim sender seems like more harm than good. Imagine being offshore and having a miserable ride home because of something stupid unnecessary to operation of the engine. It would be understandable if it’s an oil or a cooling issue.

Needed this video 16 months ago when that sensor on one of the verados I look after did this.took me way longer than I’d like to have worked it out.
And it the problem persisted even after changing the sensor..(after an hour of normal operation)
