The only thing I would add is an adjustable jack plate to fine tune how deep the motor sits. Like you mentioned some boats may do best with the cavitation plate level with the bottom, some may perform better with it sitting slightly above, etc… the only way to know for your own personal hull/motor combo is to play around with it. Just like you mentioned doing with weight distribution.

I love my dolphin fin as well. Dorsal fin is another word for it. Gets up on plane so much faster and is more stable while cruising.

So many get the outboard height wrong. For instance Tohatsu are 20.7 inch legs, , not 20 inch, so if you just dump it on the transom you are already at least 3/4 inch below keel line.

For me the addition of a 2nd engine helped a bit. Allot actually when the boat is heavy loaded . The extra gas needed is significant.

i have a 17ft polarkraft tunnel haul. i have a 55hp outboard motor that only goes 20mph, i hope this helps me go faster

I have a honwave sib 4m the boat weighs 86kg and my Yamaha f25 58kgs my top speed is 24 mph should it be more? I tried a higher pitch on the prop and the boat went 2mph slower lol trim needs to be in the middle because to low it drags to high the prop breaches the surface 🤷‍♂️

I have a 2006 model... when i give it full throttle, it crawls.... there is no speed what can be the problem?

With a boat of this colour an Aussie bloke would need all the speed he can get to avoid the rocks his mates throw at him.
