In tales of warfare, the lowly slinger is usually ignored. The Roman legions made much use of slingers, and lead slingstones are found where ever Roman legions fought.

Goliath wasn't intimated by David I assume he was just standing still while mocking David however David knew he could of taken Goliath down with the sling shot he trusted on the lord putting his life on the line. This however could of ended badly for David but the lord however makes his followers prosperous on the things they do with faith

No question that the Lord was with David that day…but let’s remember a few commonly overlooked things in this story…

A shepherd had one duty…to tend and defend the entire flock as they grazed in the wilderness. This meant that with only a staff and his sling, a lone shepherd was able to ward off wolves…who normally would come in packs. A shepherd was able to sling a stone with such precision and velocity that it would not only hit a darting wolf, but maim it to the point where it would break off it’s attack….and not just one wolf…but several. A wolf is capable of enduring far more pain than a human.

Put this all together….and you realize…Goliath didn’t stand a chance.
