The Subaru Forester is so well-rounded that it can make you forget it's a standout in certain ways for the segment. Today, I am going to go over the attributes that can make this a better pick than a Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, Mitsubishi Outlander, etc..

My 2019 Forester is the best, most versatile, most practical and well built car I have owned.

The best thing about our Subaru Forester 2020 are:
1. Bang for your buck even in Trim model (saftey package, engine, awd etc.)
2. Knowing this car is as safe as a Volvo in a crash (front, side or rear).
3. Interior space (head room too, if your tall), trunk size & fuel economy.
There is not a lot I can complain about.
If your all about being safe in a car crash, highly recommend this car.

@6:49 that's one dope videographer on a skateboard, as reflected on the rear painted door of the vehicle. great assessment and as always this channel is underrated. this dude knows his cars!

I have had four foresters since 2000. I am going to order a 2024 and keep my 08 as a second car. the idea behind the Subaru is to keep it light and fuel economy, enjoyable ride. The traction in the snow is unbelievable. The fit and finish is is very nice. Do not need a turbo. Turbo have lag time and burn more fuel and cost more. The speed limit is the same.😃

Just bought a 2022 Forester a few months ago and it is the best car we’ve had. So sturdy, comfortable, and smooth. It’s way better than any other car we’ve had. Makes me want to trade in our other car for a Subaru as well.

We have a 2021 Forester Touring and have just over 17, 500 miles on it. It has performed great. Like you said, the visibility is wonderful. It is a great car to go for a scenic drive. I find it is comfortable for my 6'4" frame -- even in the back seat I have plenty of room! The cargo area is spacious -- certainly enough for us and the seats fold down quickly just by pulling a switch in the rear cargo area. We have two spaniels and they love going for drives with us. So far, we have zero issues with this car and we look forward to enjoying it for years to come.

Just bought a 2022 because of reliability, comfort, and a bit extra ground clearance since our roads flood in Louisiana. Though I love it, I couldn't find one with the color and features I wanted. Light interior ( which I needed for Southern climates) is not available in their highest Touring trim, so I settled for a Limited. This means no memory seats (couldn't even order it), nor front camera for tight parking spots, which is only on the Wilderness (for off-roaders). Wilderness trims are piling up in Southern dealerships while the others are scarce. Their marketing is not attuned to the needs of an increasing number of suburban Americans who don't off-road and just want a well-equipped SUV and increasing live in Southern climates.

I have a 2021 base model Forester that now has 32, 000 miles. This car is far better than anything at this price has any right to be. Consistently get 30 MPG on the highway (I drive quite a bit faster than the speed limit) and it is comfortable even after five or six hours on the road,

I’d like a bigger touchscreen and a bit more volume from the stereo (sounds surprisingly good, just doesn’t get particularly loud), but otherwise I have no complaints whatsoever.

A Forester like any car, if looked after and treated with respect individually for its needs will last you a long long time without any issues.

In AZ, the Forester is the go-to choice for senior citizens.

I have a 2019 Forester, and I love it to bits.
Extremely comfortable for me, (I am 6-4 240) it drives smooth, and has been extremely reliable (only niggle so far has been the battery for the start/stop function). It gets decent gas mileage for it's size. (I would have liked it to have a larger fuel tank).
It is quite capable in light off roading (I elected to purchase the undercarriage protection pack).
I highly recommend it. I was contemplating buying the Outback or the Forester, and I think that I would have been just as happy with the Outback (with the exception of it being more limited offroad).

Those physical knobs and buttons are one of the main reasons I chose the 2023 Forester over the Outback. I didn’t want an iPad mounted to the center of my dashboard 😅. The screen in my Limited is plenty big too. Very happy with my purchase.

I’m glad that you talked about the oil consumption and the head gasket issue I did have to get rid of my 2013 Subaru outback because I did have a blown head gasket Subaru did not fix it but I understand I did have 228, 000 miles on it but Subaru did fix my outback when I had the oil consumption issue let replace my small engine block and that was at 110, 000 miles but I have a 2022 Subaru Forrester Limited so far I love it when I picked it up at the dealership at 12 miles on it it’s a great highway car. I feel very comfortable and confident when I drive it on the road hopefully this will be another long-term car that I can keep for the next 10+ years

I Love the Red exterior. It will look great with the brown leather interior on the Touring model.

Thank you for being one of very few reviewers to actually tackle the reliability issues of the cars you review. I am very much a DIY mechanic and it's nice to know serviceability too.
