Thank you. I very much appreciate this kind of commentary. I'm still new to magic, and find it overwhelming to know figure out what cards are going to have good synergy. I get easily distracted with what I think are just sweet looking cards. Which end up not really working together very well. :p

I pulled nicol bolas. Yep had to play it. Actually had good synergy with Neheb. Played back red and splashed blue for nicol. Went 3-1. Was a good time. Bolas was awesome.

I went through and rated each card for stand alone ability... not accounting for synergy. Rating 0-5, 3 being the base as good enough for your deck. Then I totaled them all up and this is what I came up with: commons: w(30.5), u(35.5), B(34.0), R(37.5), G(34.0); uncommons: w(26.0), u(29.5), B(21.5), R(26.0), G(22.0); rares: w(16.0), u(16.0), B(21.5), R(16.0), G(19.5); mythic: w(8.0), u(4.0), B(4.5), R(5.0), G(6.5); totals: w(80.5), u(85.0), B(81.5), R(84.5), based on the totals, as stand alone quality cards Blue / Red appear to be the strongest colors in Hour of Devastation.

r/w is super good in akh, i did really well in a draft with a fast r/w deck with onward//victory and insult//injury for massive amounts of damage out of nowhere. i did lose to a g/b deck that made huge creatures with the -1-1 downside, then removed the counters for big creatures fast

I think your leaving out a few good archetypes like R/B afflict which will be very strong and U/W Embalm/Eternalize
