Dr. Talia Gershon, a materials scientist by training, came to IBM Research in 2012. After 4.5 years of developing next-generation solar cell materials, she got inspired to learn about quantum computing because it might enable all kinds of discoveries (including new materials). Having authored the Beginner's Guide to the QX, she passionately believes that anyone can get started learning quantum! - Maker Faire Bay Area 2017

Finally an intro video to quantum computing that makes sense!
Also, fire the sound guy.

Thank you! Finally a Quantum Computing presentation that actually breaks down and explains Quantum Computing. This was really great. My understanding and my interest has greatly increased from before I watched this presentation to immediately after. Job very well done 👍🏻! Best intro to QC I’ve heard.

Best explanation available so far on the what and how of quantum computing. Lightbulb moment: "You apply a phase to the (problem you coded, the circuit) and some answers get amplified and others get canceled" Ahh... Now, I finally get it enough to start understanding... Please do more videos.

As an engineering student who just learn what quantum mechanics is this is absolutely mind-blowing to me watching the video made wish I was there to go give you guys a big hug for the clear work and dedication and love you have given this project and I finally reignited my thirst for knowledge
This is just amazing <3

Either the concept of this Presentation was pretty bad or the "quantum computer" they have did not achieve anything worthwhile.
She talks 5 minutes about the problems with non quantum cumputers, faculty and exponents. Two minutes about how a quantum computer would solve this theoretically and another 12 minutes about their lab, website, tools and team. The whole thing feels like a long IBM add. Nothing against IBM, but really not "A Beginner’s Guide To Quantum Computing"...

Listening to Dr. Gershon talk about quantum computing makes me remember what i loved about science when I was a kid, that "oooh" moment when things make sense are a wonderful thing.

The sad moment when you watch a beginners video and still understands nothing.. D:

So, you guys are trying to solve quantum interference?
Try solving analog microphone interference first.

AWESOME video. This presentation style is perfect for us who have some basic science and math knowledge but aren’t experts in anything. Thanks.

This is great. Specifically when she explained about the enzyme and how complicated things are when it comes to simulation.

She does a very good job explaining this. I watched a couple other vids and was still a little confused but this one it clicked for me. Great job!
