Fun fact, most flares will fit in a 12 gauge shotgun, so if your flare gun is broke but your hunting/self defense shotgun works, you can substitute the flare gun with your 12 gauge.

Be careful if you decide to shoot these up into the air though, as law enforcement DO NOT like seeing these go up unless it's an emergency, and they WILL come knocking. If you insist on testing a flare, do so by firing it like a normal shotgun round, into a berm where it won't catch fire to anything.

Fun fact, flare gun cartridges are the same length and diameter as a 12 gauge shotgun round. So you can technically fire it out of a shotgun. A shotgun round also fit inside a flare gun however you can only fire it once

For info some flare gun old ammo will disappear after on air about 2-3 minutes but some good ammo will go highter about 10-15 min and if the ammo was new it will fly and get back ground like a bullet
