This is the aftermath of a hoarder. I wish I could have done more, but just what you see in this video took almost 5 hours. If I get more time, I'll go back and start on another room. We'll see. I have a lot of people on my calendar right now, so we have plenty more videos coming. Plenty more people to help.

Bless your heart. Please don't ever expose yourself to that kind of filth again without protective gear. It's not worth you getting sick over. Great job as always.

Bless you! My son is also high functioning, he's 11. My Step Mother was /is a hoarder. Until her I had never even known this was a thing, I came from a very small farming community where most people wouldn't have enough money to every buy enough to hoard. When my father died she took out a mortgage on the house and his 50 acres, he willed the land to my sister and I. She refused to give it to us, and then she lost it all to the bank. I heard that when the bank took over the home they had to hire a company that did hazmat work to clear it out. She never offered my sister and I one thing of my father's, nothing. (He also willed his guitar which was his prized possession, to my sister) . A friend who still lives in the small community (I moved away 30 years ago) called me one day and said " guess what!?" I said " what?" She is literally beaming through the phone...she says, well when I heard Ann (step mother) didn't give you or your sister anything of your Dad's I took a drive out. By your Dad's home, I noticed he had a shed out in the back, it had an old lock on it which just fell off, it was empty but I thought...If I was a man who had anything of value, and was married to a woman who had a clear mental health problem and hadn't cleaned the home in 20 years, where might I hide something? So, she walked around and felt all around the joists and. Beams. Guess what she found? My Dad's gold pocket watch, which was my Grandfather's, a little wooden box he had made myself some of his guitar picks and a small switch. Blade knife with his name engraved on it, which I gave to him for Christmas one year. That was one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me.

I'm a hoarder who's ready to stop the madness and start cleaning. My place is only about half this bad and I'm overwhelmed by it. Watching you and the tools you use gives me a place to start. Thanks for this video!

"I'm just a dude with high functioning autism who wants to help people" hit me so hard. Keep going man, it means a lot to these folks. I also have the -tism and it sucks ass but sometimes comes in mega handy.

I am not a hoarder, but i do have adhd inattentive type which was not diagnosed until i was 46 years old. I have always been overwhelmed by clutter but also the type to leave stuff in places they absolutely dont belong. I completely froze whenever i tried to straighten up, because finding a place to start is hard. I've been watching you for several weeks and the way you clean and organize make sense to me in ways that others never did. Your process makes so much sense, and I'm so upset i wasnt able to fugure it out in my own. Ive been able to properly clean and organanize 2 rooms in my house and i am passing some of your methods on to my son who has autism. I'm sure you have heard it a thousand times before, but thank you for what you do.

As a woman who struggles with hoarding tendencies, your videos encourage me to keep fighting. I do not want to end up like this this home, so my fight does matter, if to no one other than myself.

“I have dumb guy syndrome” 😂 I don’t know how you managed that without gloves?! Well done for helping ease the burden for this family 💛

I'm a recovered hoarder (runs in my family). This video is good to watch. If anyone else who has trouble with hoarding is reading this comment, just know there are treatments and a way out of the madness.

My wife inherited a house from a deceased family member a few years ago. I'm looking at this video, and I can't stress enough that this was actually relatively clean compared to what I put myself through in that house. I had to use a putty knife to literally scrape the gunk off the counters. After 10-12 hours of painstaking work, I felt like I was getting nowhere. I ended up contacting a disaster recovery specialist contractor to just tear out the counters and cabinets and toss the entirety of the kitchen, gunk and all.

I prefer the narrated videos, they’re much more enjoyable than canned music. Your perspective is everything!

Put a box of masks and gloves in your van, so you never go anywhere without them. Great job as usual. Love watching your vids.

After watching this I got up and cleaned my house. You must have a heart of gold to even tackle that.

I know you mentioned you hate narrating but I thought it was nice to hear your thoughts and backstory. You talk very well, and your voice is calming.

I love these kind of videos - the dirtier the better, but I was sad to hear you had no protection. Your solution seemed very sanitary. I pray you're in good health after that.

My son has high functioning autism everyone tells me he won’t be able to cope in a work setting when he’s older, but seeing you work so hard and talk about it so well gives me so much hope for his future! Keep up your videos & hard work ❤

I would've cried if I walked into that kitchen, knowing that I was the one that was going to clean it. You have a big heart.

You did a wonderful job. Personally I'd still replace literally everything in that kitchen!

It's painful to imagine how someone was actually living in that space.

I've been in a deep depressive episode and struggling to clean my own home. After watching your videos, I have a new drive to make progress with cleaning and get my own living space into good shape. Thanks for sharing your videos!
