Another way, good for multi-colour gradient fills, is to alpha-lock the line art layer, whack on solid colour with a hard edge brush, and then gaussian blur. With alpha lock engaged, the transparency does not leak into the paint.

Okay but what if there are two different lines I want two different colours 🥲

not sure why but when i drop the new colour onto my line, some of it takes and other parts don't, so then I try the new areas and no matter how many times I try and even enlarge the line to be huge, the new colour drops onto the whole piece.
