While on a mission 41 years ago in Switzerland, my companion and I were going door to door in a high rise apartment area that had a community park between the buildings. A gentle snow fall came upon us so we sat on a concrete bench in the park to experience the moment. In a ground floor apartment in front of us, we saw two small children seated a few feet in front of a tv and a Charlie Brown cartoon was playing, I think it was the Christmas program. We watched and laughed seeing the program thru their window, reminiscing on our youth for a few minutes, pushing each other and laughing, when the woman in the apartment got up and closed the blinds to the window. It was like taking a stomach punch. Our laughter ended and we continued knocking on doors. It was a wonderful memory on a tough day.

I am a cosmetology Instructor and one Halloween i placed my mannequin head in my trunk with the hair hanging out of the trunk.
Police knocked at my front door at 11 pm asking me if they could see the inside of my trunk. They received a call from person warning that there was a DEAD body in my trunk.
Omg. So funny.
I took the cops to my vehicle and opened my trunk. I leaned in, grabbed the mannequin head and said “ in this what you mean?”
The cops jumped what seemed to be ten feet back. Scared them so bad.
I told them i was an instructor and was playing a Halloween prank.
We laughed and i think they peed their britches

Couldn't sleep, and I'm sitting laughing here, so thank you. Happy memories of living in a big old house and my older brother turning off all the lights making eerie whistling wind sounds and coming back into the room quietly with a sheet draped over him and turning a torch under his chin and frightening the .... out of my 8 year old self. Didn't help that the neighbours used to say that lights used to be seen in that old house in the old servants' quarters and the place was huge draughty and creaky. And our Halloween bobbing for apples and making our own masks was done in the old basement kitchen with the board and the bells that the servants had to answer upstairs and of course a numbered room would always ring and no one would be No videos at the time limited television channels and I'm still scared about one black and white film about a governess minding children in an old house.... The most spooky story in this episode was Bill’s dad smelling the cigarette smoke of his deceased wife. That is a bit hard to explain away!! Cigarette smoke is such a strong odor and nothing else replicates that. Would have been cool to have seen a white ghost smoking and blowing white smoke.
