Tonight we welcome a special guest onto the show who goes by the name of Kishkumen. He is a classics professor at a major university in the United States. Kishkumen will share with us his experiences and insights into Mormonism from the perspective of a classics professor, and I expect we will all learn a lot along the way.

Kish! Enjoyed seeing you on the show. We used to talk regularly on Dr. Shades’ Mormon Discussions site a lot. I have always enjoyed your humor and your intelligent views on Mormonism, the Classics, etc. Glad you are doing well.

Now I know where the nerds hung out at BYU! I was there during Hugh Nibley’s time. I seem to remember he was my stake president. Did he wear red tennis shoes? Also, I took Book of Mormon from Cleon Skousen. Loved that class—he acted out the entire Book of Mormon. Also, love this show—never miss an episode!

Love the interaction, and the light shone on the very shady doings of the would-be 'BMOCS'! Or apologetics. Never fails to amaze me even as someone with a degree in history as to how people can manipulate information or even to dismiss it to suit their own agendas. On a general level, for instance, as Irish students, we learn a lot of English history, but in England, very little of Irish history is taught. The Mormon religion seems to stand on a very shaky foundation fact wise ergo how afraid they are of academics in their midst who operate on proven facts and not on blind faith in an ever shifting "truth". Griggs was a BYU professor of mine. He had a lot of Nibly stories (shared an office with him).

53:49 I'm 53 minutes in, and the only thing I know is vaguely how he came up with the name to call himself Kish Kumon. Are we going to get to any substance.

Yes, there are problems with FARMS ROBOTBOM reviews. The famous Metcalfe is a buthead childishness comes to mind. However, there are fundamental problems with Brooke’s book, problems noted by Jan Shipps. Now, of course, we know that popular religion was often at loggerheads with official religion. The problem with Brooke’s book is the genealogy.

A non PC question, but a misogynist in favour of Putin's invasion of Ukraine, is he by any chance unusually short in stature?
