3 Years Without a Shower! Time to Design the Steam Shower

Since our build, we've been 3 years without a shower. So many other projects to get done first, that we've waited to build the shower. But now it's time to finally plan out the steam shower design. A lot of people wonder if you can build a home without having to install a shower; so we've been using just a bathtub. However , now the building codes state you must have a functioning shower to get occupancy.

I'm thinking glass bifold doors for that slanted entry as you can't swing out with your wood floors. Oh man, I've got to give my dog a bath now so I don't feel guilty! I like the ceiling design!

Have you thought about a trough drain along the back side. Could eliminate the need for a curb.

Wow what a coincidence, we’re doing a steam shower in our house too! Amy, would you mind sharing who you’re planning to order your shower door from? Brian mentioned somewhere in Denver, because I was gonna order from an online store but will gladly work with a local business. By the way with that Suez canal disaster you might be waiting for your closet a little longer )). Oh and another by the way - did you guys know that a ceiling in a steam room is supposed to be sloped as well, to prevent hot water condensate from dripping on your head. Cheers!

If you're using kerdi for the walls, why not use a kerdi shower pan?
