The point of picking Hitler as an example is to point out that Chomsky probably agree's on an issue with almost anyone in the world (even hitler), and by implication, he probably agrees with Jordan Peterson on something. It has nothing to do with equating or comparing JP to Hitler. It's not hard to understand Chomsky's point, at all.

The commentary by this guy reminds me of a quote by Bertrand Russel. He said, “A stupid man's report of what a clever man says can never be accurate, because he unconsciously translates what he hears into something he can understand.”

The guy is lying, he either misunderstood chomsky or just wants to instigate.

And this video, kids, is the perfect example of why you shouldn’t trust people in internet. Some of them can’t even understand the most basic conversation.

This was very unprofessional handled by Curt. He clearly didn't refer to him as Hitler. He said that he didn't pay a lot of attention to the phenomena. I usually don't agree with Jordan Peterson on most things but comparing him to Hitler is a little harsh and he was clearly hurt by it. Cmon., ,

Completely unprofessional behavior by this interviewer - this level of misrepresentation is sloppy and disqualifying

"Give em hell @natanyahu" -JP
It's incredible how accurate Noam was about JP.

I'm not sure that it's fair to say that Chomsky thought JBP is Hitler, it sounded more like he was saying that you could find things to agree/disagree with for anyone, even someone as extreme as Hitler (so the question of what he disagrees with is not meaningful). The blog post he referenced depicts Peterson as talking in platitudes.

As someone who is a huge JP fan, Chomsky did not say JP was Hitler. He said I don’t know anything about him, so maybe I agree with him on some issues, but that means nothing. I may agree with Hitler on some issues, that doesn’t mean I agree with Hitler.

The interviewer not getting Chomsky's Hitler point is almost as embarrassing as Peterson's reading of Marx.

Man that either is the dumbest interpretation of what chomsky said or just being a vile liar to cause instigation. This actually pisses me off.

Peterson looks so sad that Chomsky doesn’t pay attention to him.

What a misleading title. Chomsky said he didn't know much about Peterson and Peterson didn't watch the video. It's mainly you setting Peterson and Chomsky up to each other, but your attempt didn't work.

Its confusing to me that Peterson would be so quick to take this guy's misrepresentation of Chomsky's words at face value.

Jordan looked like he was about to start crying after the Chomsky clip lol

Noam in no way called Jordan Hitler. He said he probably agreed with Hitler on some issues. Meaning he can agree with someone that has beliefs far from his own. You're simplifying and obviously baited this conversation so you'd drum up some controversy I presume. Noam doesn't think much about Jordan because Jordan is a wind bag who likes the sound of his own voice.. He rambles and at times becomes incoherent in his trying frantically to make a point. It is painful to watch when he stumbles. . Noam is on another level. He does not have this black and white view as you suggested.. His is more a running dialog as he learns and interprets.
His ego isn't running the show like with Jordan.

Chomsky clearly didn't compare JP to Hitler. He said he didn't even follow JP's output. Hitler was only mentioned to show how, no matter how much you disagree with someone, it is almost impossible not to be able to find common ground in at least one thing. If anything, the answer was "I don't follow his output, so I don't really know. However, even though we probably disagree on most things, there can be some common ground".

Chomsky wasn't saying that Peterson was like Hitler. You took that the whole wrong way. He just simply took an extreme example and said that there may be some things that he and Hilter agree with, but that doesn't mean much. You totally misrepresented Chomskys statement about Peterson. What you should have done, was actually read the paper he cited... _"The Intellectual We Deserve"_ - which fully explains his position on Peterson.

Curt do you find yourself watching Jordan Peterson on a regular basis? It seems like you have picked up his speech patterns
