Wealth is quiet, rich is loud, poor is flashy, health is wisdom.

We’re driving paid off old vehicles while everyone we know gets new cars every few years. I’d rather put that car payment in the stock market!

Thanks Chris. I've been saying to my son since he was young "If you have money, don't tell anyone you have money. It changes how they think about you."

What really changed my concept about money, was the day I realized that it did not belong to me, it belonged to the Lord and today I truly desire to be a good steward of what belongs to HIM. Extremely liberating for me. And to see Chris using his gift to be a blessing for others, is awesome. Thank you Chris!

I agree. I just hate that I didn’t get this mindset till I reached almost 50 years old.

I’ll never like looking poor. I like looking like I got a little bread but really I got it from Ross TJ Maxx or Marshall’s 😂😂

Money is just another form of energy to me. It comes to me with ease. Thanks for sharing!

It's in Black people to have pride in the way we carry ourselves and there's nothing wrong with that because we've been put through years of struggle and deprivation. It's okay to dress well...damn what yall saying. You can dress well and still have money.

It’s not about looking poor, it’s about not trying to look rich.

I went through that phase where I always needed to upgrade and have stuff that everybody else had. All that changed in my late 40s. Now I'm 54 and I have no credit cards and I only have one single debt which is my mortgage payment. I also drive a 1995 Z71 pickup which has low monthly insurance. The excess money I make at work goes into the stock market. I couldn't be happier!

You hit the nail on the head. I learned this long ago. I worked for a company owned by one of the wealthiest people in the world. He didn't own a suit and often looked like a regular Joe walking around in his blue jeans and some flannel shirt. No way did he look rich. I grew up in a town known as a wealthy town and everyone in the town was trying to outdo the other in ways of dress and car and house and even down to the caterer for the parties. If the big giant house on the hill had a party that hired a certain caterer that served a certain food, then the houses below would do the same. They were all phony with the air kisses and fancy pricy outfits and bags and sunglasses. It was a case of 'who are you wearing?' I referred to them as the wannabes. They were rich but not RICH, they could afford to buy things but likely in dept up their eyes. I have seen them all.
'Locking into what really matters'...So very true. Know and love yourself and everything else will fall into place and you will be ok. Suddenly, you see the world in a different light. You see beyond the labels and fakeness and see the true soul of that human.
It takes a long time to get to that place in life and some people never get there until the very end. Lucky, you are there now.

My spouse and me make a good living, not rich by no means but we have it good. I still drive a 87 beat up Mazda pickup truck. I could easily buy a new vehicle but it gets me where I need to go for the most part. I enjoy looking poor it may seem weird but I do. Case in point I went to buy a fishing license and told the cashier I wanted to buy a lifetime one which is 600 dollars. The guy said I couldn't afford it. I thought to my self if this guy even knew.

I live in NYC. We honestly can never make assumptions about people here, on the bus, subway or on foot. Nor do we even care. Live and let live is our motto. ❤

Wealthy is quiet. Rich is loud. Poor is fancy.
I try not to buy clothing or accessories with a label that shows on the outside.

After reading Millionaire Next Door in 2000, 6 to 8 months later, I visited a man who was selling his 88 Honda Accord Lx which was in pristine condition. His house was $350K or more all brick, and the only reason he was selling it—was to buy a 00 Honda Odyssey in full, for his growing family. I pulled up in a 98 Olds Silhouette van living in a 3bdrm townhouse at the time. The visit made me re-evaluate what living in luxury meant while appearing to look like the average joe. The luxury vehicle I had over time became a headache and a chore, plus I realized I was spending too much money a month for a vehicle that was parked more than I was driving, since I worked 60 hours weeks; so the Honda CRV Lx became the practical and cost effective choice for me. We spend more time in our house not our vehicles regardless of our work.

Remember my history teacher saying poor planning on your part does not create an urgency on mine.

I drive a 2003 Honda Accord. Paid off, cold AC, runs great, brought a flat screen upgrade for the dash....upgraded the interior for the exact price of 3 months of car payments.

I followed Dave Ramsey-ish for the past for years and now im debt free. I keep that to myself, I keep my blessings to myself unless the other person also cares about financial freedom

Nothing wrong with looking nice...not overly loud, but I do like quality because it lasts longer...gotta pair of Gucci loafers 12 years ago and still looking brand new...
