All Southerners believe sliced tomatoes go with every meal. Yours look marvelous.

I did try a recipe once that replaced half the shortening with butter, and those suckers stayed soft, uncovered, for hours. Love all your videos. May the haters and unskilled remain silent just once.

As someone who was never taught to cook from scratch, you give me the courage to try. Thank you for walking and talking through the steps and making it simple (and not making some of us feel dumb for not knowing) 💚

Using your fingers to work the butter is how you add the LOVE 💕

I like using half shortening and half butter. Started making my pie crusts that way years ago because 1 time I didn't have enough of 1 of them, so i combined. When my father tasted the pie he said it was delicious and reminded him of his mother's ...I teared up! My grandmother was a wonderful baker and never measured anything or wrote anything down. 😥 She was half blooded Potawatomi and so caring of her whole family. My fondest childhood memories are of the time spent at grandmother's house in the country. We use to walk barefoot down to an old country store, go mushroom huntin, shuck corn, snap beans, feed the chickens, go fishing, pick pears, and get water from a well. She didn't have indoor plumbing, so we boiled water and washed in the washtubs and only had an outhouse! I miss those days, but at least I had them! Thanks for your video of making biscuits, it took me down memory lane! ❤

Patara just had to say this too. One of our kids said that my biscuits are the only ones they want! Doesn't like any other kind. What a blessing for this to be said!! I am honored actually. Made my heart good. Be careful, be cautious, be mindful, be watchful, be prepared, above all PRAY.🛐📖🙏🕊️ show ❤️ like Jesus then if need be 🔫🏹 then victory 🙌🙌

This Chicago girl just made these! Used my 10 inch Lodge cast iron. Oh my goodness! Delish! I cook from scratch at least 27 days a month. A bread /biscuit baker I am not. Now I am! My 92 year old Dad who always had homemade bread during the depression gave 2 thumbs up! Thank you Patera!

I borrowed a Magnolia cookbook from the library recently and learned all about White Lily flour. I’m Canadian and we don’t have that brand but I can improvise with my ingredients while making biscuits. Can’t wait to try your method! Also, I’m Ojibwe and love to see you representing your Cherokee heritage. 🪶 😊

Patara you are such a no nonsense joy to watch. I’m just starting to prepare biscuits and purchase the cutter. I never knew not to do the twist and shout. Thanks for the knowledge!

When I was growing up there was the cutest little cups in oatmeal. My grandma saved them. I still use these cups. Those are Good Lookin Biscuits!!

Tried this recipe today while one of my toddlers sat at the table and the other was napping - it was so easy and quick. We all enjoyed a warm biscuit with butter and local honey! I will be writing this down and making this many more times!

My sweet grandmother who lived on a big farm in Greene County, Tennessee would bake biscuits nearly every day for the farmhands when they would come in for dinner. I miss her. ❤️

Once I learned the tricks of using the sifter and folding over once, my biscuits have consistently come out great. My hubby loves my biscuits now. 🥰 And I love making them now! 😁
