Solved: Printer prints faint, faded and dull pictures but no problem with documents

Hey there, printer enthusiasts! Welcome back to our channel. We're diving into an issue that's been leaving many of you scratching your heads: faded pictures from your printer. You know, those prints that just don't have that vibrant, eye-catching quality you were expecting. Well, get ready to discover the real cause behind this puzzling problem because, believe it or not, it's not your printer's fault at all! I'm here to show you why.

Did I get a cataract or is the printhead clogged? Neither. It's the way you are printing. We investigate a strange problem where the printer will print documents without a problem but can't print good quality pictures to save its robotic life.

this is brilliant. I just bought a brand new tank printer and loved it EXCEPT the colors weren't dark enough. Printing out of word gave me a nice dark, crisp color. TY SO MUCH!

In Photoshop to get the best results you should do this.
Once you import an image that you want to print in Photoshop:

First, click the image tab-> Mode-> CMYK color.
Then file->print, and in pop-up screen select "Photoshop manages colors" and select the printer profile dropdown menu to be "Cannon IJ color printer profile 2015".

Start the print.
Magic.

For others- I used Photoshop on my Mac with a Canon Ts5350 printer. When I used Preview beforehand, my prints were dull. When I used all the same settings, just on Photoshop, it was perfect!

I had the exact opposite problem - documents were printing with everything way faded in MS Word. I found this video and changed my print preferences from Standard to Photo Printing, and the print quality from Standard to High. Make sure the paper size is correct, and ignore any notice it gives you about paper type. HUGE difference! Takes longer to print but the color being vibrant is well worth it.

This is using a Canon TR4500 with refilled ink from this same channel/store. Thank you *again* for the help Kevin!

Oh man, thank you so much! I thought I had tried everything to improve my image quality for printing art stickers but nothing worked. Definately was feeling a lot of despair. This made a huge difference and now my art stickers don't look faded anymore and might actually be good enough quality to sell as intended when I bought the printer. You're my printer hero! <3

You are a lifesaver. Happened to me. I had no other Image softwares, so I "reset" Microsoft Photos app from Control Panel and its all good now.

Just want to say thank you so much! I also have a canon pixma mp 250 that has always worked but hardly used. Thanks to you was able to revive my 10 year old cartridges and refill them and save money! When I started printing photos also faded but quality improved with paint as stated. Many thanks for all your videos and I really do appreciate it.
