Yes, GRIEF IS REAL for the animals.

Don’t ever let anyone tell you it isn’t!

Tokka’s heart is broken.

I’m a rodeo cowboy, and I’m here to tell ya, horses have feelings and emotions. They truly are God’s gift to us.

When our 32yr old Arab passed our Ky Mountain gelding literally stood over his grave for a solid week! They were best buds & hes been gone 2 years & I think he STILL grieves the loss of his friend😢

I had a mare with filly (P). They were together for nearly 20 years, so never apart. P was definitely herd bound to her Mom. When the mare passed from colic, then I brought P over to sniff & see. Mom mare was 33 years old at that point. P was confused & then started looking & calling. She started running around the yard & calling & then screaming in horse language. She broke into a full sweat & was panting & came back to her Mom repeatedly. I felt so heartbroken for her. We tried to calm her down. Was awful. -- Now I have 2 geldings that are buddies & been together for over a decade. I worry about when one or other goes, as both getting older.

Sorry for your loss! :-(

This is so sad. I had two horses that had been together for 12 years. One of them developed colic and the vet had to put her down. Before the vet arrived, I removed her rug and hung it over the fence. After the mare was buried, my other horse stood by that rug hanging on the fence, for a week. It broke my heart

Horses have the compassion that 90% of humans have forgotten.

Omgsh, that’s so sad. I had a 25 yr old and a 33 yr old together for a lot of years and the 33 year old passed. Her mate the 25 year old took along time to get over his love. Made me cry. They feel just like we do!

I lost my 15 year old dog about 12 hours ago, and then your video showed up on my feed. Grief is real. I'm feeling empathy with your horse.

The people who say animals have no emotions have never been blessed by an animal's love. My heart hurts for this horse losing his friend.😢

When I put down my 23 year old gelding due to melanoma, his best bonded friend stood at the gate that I last walked him through, to put him down in our trees, called to him for days. He was never the same after that & was head of our herd, but remained removed/aloof from the the horses he watched over. Rest in peace Frosty, you’re still missed. ❤

Yes, animals grieve. They have feelings and emotions. I have seen with the passing of my own domestic animals. I'm sorry for the loss of your horse and even more sorry for the one missing him.

I worked as a equine Vet tech and Had to put horses down...One day we had to put 4 down from the same farm...it was tough...they had the holes dug and I walked them to the edge of the hole then they administered the shot I tried on the next horse to cover his eyes so he didn't see his buddies lying there dead....when they were all dropped the bulldozer rolled them into the holes...I got back to the a former Combat Vet in Iraq...I cried so

Aw, poor horse. 🙁 Animals definitely grieve. Over the years, my dogs have been visibly changed each time one of their pals passes away. ❤️

So sorry for the loss of his friend. My pup[10mo. old] a black lab lost his brother to a hit and run. Milo greeved for over half year sulking and not eating right, hardly playing till I got him a cat - - - - -

This is why humans need to be much, much more careful and sensitive when selling a member of the herd, and moving that member out of the pasture. I am convinced that my one of my horses died as a result of the stress of being separated from his former partner. 💔😕

All animals grieve, just like us human animals. When my favourite cat was killed by a snake, his cat buddy grieved so much I took him to the vet. Physically he was fine but he pined so much for his friend that within a year, he took his last breath, too. Grief is real.
So sorry for your loss.
