A lot of people wonder what youtubers make and when it comes to youtube ad revenue it can vary a lot.

When I started youtube I never expected to be able to make a lot of money from it, I just did it for fun. And for this channel, there was a good amount of time where I wasn't monetized yet so I wasn't making any money (in fact I lost it because of the cost of new youtuber camera equipment).

So there I was, a small youtuber in the personal finance niche and I was monetized on November 10th 2019, and all of a sudden my channel TOOK OFF.

Now to be honest with you, I really didn't want to make this video because money is such a taboo topic and the whole "make money online", "Make money on youtube", "ecommerce", "side hustle" and "passive income" thing can be really misleading.

Many make online business and side income seem like it's really easy and almost like it's a get rich quick scheme which this isn't. I started this channel once, gave up, and then started it again, grinded for a long time, and finally found success. The first 100 subscribers was the hardest, then the first 1000 subscribers was a little easier, then 10,000 was a little easier and 100,000 was easier too.

That's sort of how this sort of thing works, once you get some traction yout can really grow. I still remember how awesome it was to get my first youtube adsense money and my first youtube paycheck as well.
