NASA officials held a briefing on Monday — nearly two weeks after the 322-foot-tall Artemis moon rocket launched into space, boosting an uncrewed Orion capsule on a flight to the moon. "Orion is 267,858 miles from Earth, 43,543 miles from the Moon, cruising at 1,689 miles per hour," NASA tweeted at 6:15 a.m. ET on Monday.

I am confused. Why must we test and gather data for the same procedures and hardware the USA used repeatedly to travel back and forth to moon over 50 years ago? At the risk of sounding conspiratorial, it as though its happening for the first time.
