The first South Korean-made Offshore Patrol Vessel of the Philippine Navy is expected to be built within this year. HHI made revisions on their CDR since the Philippine Navy has asked for the helicopter hangars for the OPVs.

The Philippine Navy acquired six Offshore Patrol Vessels, and the OPV has a displacement of 2,400 tons, a length of 94.4 meters, a width of 14.3 meters, a maximum speed of 22 knots, a cruising speed of 15 knots, a range of 5,500 nautical miles and will be built at HHI’s Ulsan shipyard, and complete delivery of six ships until 2028.

These six OPVs were acquired under the Horizon 2 phase of the Revised AFP Modernization Program.

It includes technology transfer, particularly in terms of engineering operators and maintenance training, personnel training, technical publications and manuals.
