I think it is important to specify that when you move your mouse away from the target, you need to click. Her e is a directional ability which interrupts pathing and casts a dash where the mouse is. Her Q however, casts towards whichever direction she is moving in since it does not interrupt pathing. This means you need to not only move the mouse in the direction you want, but also click to path that direction.
