Totally agree and for the reasons given. Sometimes, when pushing my shopping cart and there’s a near miss collision with another shopping cart or shopper in a grocery store, as a way of not saying I’m sorry, I kinda as a joke say to the other person something like, “Oops! Not to worry. I have insurance.” That generally brings a smile from the other patron.

I was able to put this into practice recently, when i was a little late to meet with an electrician. I said thanks for waiting & it put a smile on my heart at that moment & I'm sure made him feel better. Thanks for sharing 👍

That drives me crazy! Everyone is "sorry"! In the store, at the gas srarion, everywhere! Sorry, for what? A very wise person told me that there are 2 very important words and if we use them too much, they become irrelevant and loose all meaning. They no longer mean anything to the speaker nor to the listener. Those 2 words are sorry and friend! Mean them when ever you use them!!😊
