Top 15 Fantasy Books to Read in Autumn

I asked 100 readers which is their top favorite book to read in autumn / fall. And after hours of consolidating and reviewing, here is the top 15 book recommendations perfect to read during this season!

The Night Circus is still one of my all time favorites! If you like audiobooks, I recommend the reading of it by Jim Dale. I'm always searching for more books like The Night Circus - and I'm usually disappointed. Her tarot deck is amazing too.

- Dracula is my favourite book EVER along with The Lord of the Rings. I have the Valdemar hardback edition which is huge and alsoo the Debolsillo editioon because the other one is huge XDDDD
- Belladonna and Nettle and Bone are on my TBR for "Jabolin" ;)
- I may or may not have put on my TBR/wishlist a big amount of books you recommended for the season in the last few videos
- I'm going to read "The Royal Assassin" (Farseer 2) in october and you, yes you, should definitely join the Farseer fandom. we have room for you
- Daughter of the forest is a retelling of the Swan Princes fairy tale. The person who curses these boys and their sister is their stepmother and their father is the chief of their clan. This is Ireland when the normans and the English were fighting for the land, it's full of folklore and darkness and it is also somewhat nostalgic because it talks about the decadence of the celtic ways. It is a fave of mine needless to say.

For me Lord of the Rings is perfect for the monts of September til December. It has some nostalgia to it, the world as they know it is fading away, there's a darkness threatening the Middle Earth, the Elves are leavinf while the leaves fall from the trees... everything seems to be dying...

I'm just now reading Dracula for the first time through the Dracula Daily newsletter, and loving it! Finally a spooky fall book I can get behind!
I tried so many times to read Night Circus but I never managed to get past the first chapters 🥲

I saw The Fall as more of a prequel and read it after Of Blood and Fire but I think it can be done either way. It's been a great series so far and wyverns as well as dragons.
I don't really read seasonally as a rule but I read a couple of horrors last year. One of them was Nick Cutter's The Troop, kind of Lord of the Flies with a killer tapeworm. Got a werewolf book called Mongrels I might get in

if you like another short book by T. Kingfisher, (I don't want to name it, because it could cause spoilers) you may like Mexican Gothic. I had also heard that Night Circus was amazing, but I was very meh about it. I am curious about the Starless Sea but not that eager to read it.

The Starless Sea didn't work for me as well. It just felt too disjointed and I'm not a fan of modern timelines. I absolutely adore The Night Circus so it was a little bit disappointing.

I really relate with The Night Circus, there've been so many times I almost bought a copy but then was like "oh but idk if I can finish it if there's not a strong plot, only vibes, it's so long"
