Join us live at 6.00 p.m. (7.30 a.m. in Washington DC) to hear the Diplomatic Editor of The Economist, Anton La Guardia, assess the impact of the FT/WAPO stories on Indo-US relations as well as analyze the emerging tensions in relations between Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Joseph Biden. First, have allegations that India could be involved in killing US citizen on US soil raised worrying questions about the Modi government in the White House? Could this affect Congress clearing major defence deals? Could this lead to the US President declining the invitation to be Chief Guest on Republic Day? Second, has Netanyahu ignored Biden’s advice not to respond in rage? Antony Blinken has said far too many Palestinians have been killed in Gaza but Benjamin Netanyahu is determined to continue with the airstrikes after the present four day truce ends. Can America accept Netanyahu’s determination to eradicate Hamas no matter what the toll of Palestinian civilian lives? The US stands for a two-state solution, with Israel out of Gaza and replaced by the Palestine Authority. However, Netanyahu has always opposed a two-state solution, dismisses the PA and, in defiance of America, has said Israel will seek indefinite security control over Gaza. Biden wants Israeli settler violence in the West Bank to cease. Netanyahu claims such accusations are baseless. US media reports say Netanyahu has “angered” the Biden administration. How true is that? Join us live at 6.00 p.m. to hear Anton La Guardia’s answers.

Israel has a major monopoly over media in the west and all over the world. They also have a major monopoly over governments, elections, and financial institutions in the west.

Your 2 topics are more closely related than meets the eye. The Israel India nexus is working in a double barrel fashion aiming it towards the US testing its limits. Biden’s worry about Netanyahu’s multiple mistakes with Palestine leading to very large number of deaths on both sides is now accompanied by Modi’s alleged attempt to assasinate a Sikh dissident who is also a US citizen for political views held. I don’t envy Biden. He is both being tested & taken for a ride by these 2 guys more or less simultaneously, acting in cohort whether by intent or design may not seem so on the face but will become clear by identifying the right-wing Extremist Nationalist ideology both clearly profess & action for everyone to see.

The issue was raised in jun 23 and in last few months, there is no issue in relations. Obviously USA govt was not waiting for FT.

Modi will keep doing these things. The world should wake up.
For how long will you support that man just because you want to sell your products in India?
Shame.

It gives us a pause when you hear another assassination story given how india Canada diplomacy gone sour and the person is also linked in both stories and nations.

Buy if you keep your calm and think rationally, given these stories are published in propaganda outlets like Economist without any evidence but officials said so stories, remember the economist never ever failed to support any US wars and imperial hegemony, Thapar simply taken this story by faith without questioning as rational journalist.

Imagine this, just accept the Canada assassination story is true, what kind of intelligence agency in the world would go after a person to assassinate him who is linked in both stories and Canada India relations gone so sour? Only dumbest intelligence agency would do that when the previous story is still hot.
Or, this typical US empire intelligence agencies psycops to Control India against Russia as well as China and also keep the support for Israel.

Until the Economist published evidence, this whole story should be considered as garbage psyops.

Karan, Whats the matter? the 200th incident which you expected to somehow impact India in an adverse way didnt pan out for you? Desperate to demonstrate some impact on India, you invite none other than the Economist which seems to be have a particular hatred for Modi, what with articles criticizing Modi every month. The economists and its editors have great credibility in India, where your audience is. Anton is about the worst of prognasticators when it comes to foreign policy issues for countries, just look up the history of his prognostications. If in 1971 Indira Gandhi could put Nixon in his place for his threats to India, today's India can do that 10x more. Apparently as somebody who broadcasts to Indians, you seem unconcerned about what this sick man Pannun threatens to do to Air India passengers and the warning to Sikh travelers in Air India (which by the way is a private company) that their life is in danger. That says all we need to know about your bias. Keep at it, with likely CIA money channelled to The Wire

In this interview at 8:42 min the gentleman said "everything that's happening in Gaza has a large dose of American involvement". Karan Thapar failed to ask that gentleman this obvious question - Including the genocide or the humanitarian genocide unleashed upon the innocent civilians of Gaza by American money and weapons". Rest is all lip service. Don't ask any questions about the himan rights of Palestinians in an apartheid state.

Providing safe haven to Indian fugitives and giving them citizenship by Canada and America is stressful and unethical. Hence this issue is not worthy of debate and discussion. Both of you are wasting time of viewers as well as yours.
