Huh... the ancient Japanese hunting technique of "deer dying from old age"

I am Japanese, but it is very interesting to read the individual comments, which show that Westerners and Easterners have very different ideas about bows. The Orient has a tradition of observing the archer's personality perfection through archery. Japanese archery fires quickly during hunting and war, and operates slowly during rituals and spiritual training. The archers in this video have been practicing Japanese archery for at least three years.

The person who made this looked at a normal longbow, and just muttered under his breath “bigger.”

Me and my wife conceived our daughter waiting for him to fire that arrow. She’s 2 now, and I think he’s gonna do it any minute.

I am a university student in Japan who enjoys Kyudo. I have been practicing Kyudo for about one year, but this person's shooting posture is very sophisticated as far as I can see.

Commander: Have you spotted enemy hideouts.
Scout: Yes Commander, our scout tracked enemy movements, though they were well camouflaged but we spotted them with their Long Bow.

Ok what you are watching is a meditative martial art known as Kyudo. It’s not about how fast it’s performed or even if you hit the target accurately. It’s about control and how perfectly you perform the movements.

ETA: this was done very well

Meanwhile the deer is now 500 yards away because you took so long to draw. Just kidding of course. Beautiful art being made with a bow.

Man there’s something truly relaxing about a japanese man using a traditional bow in a forest

So wait is it called the long bow because it is long or because it shoots at long distance target?

Or because it took so long to draw?

Fun fact: These bows are made in a way that makes them extremely durable. So durable infact that there are people in Japan who've been using the same bow that they have started training with. A lot of the time these bows are custom made and quite expensive.

There is an organization called "Kyudo Police" in Japan, which warns against even the slightest mistakes.
I am one of them, and in this video, ①the process called"Daisan" is ignored. ②The length of the arrow is shorter than the physique of the shooter. I will point out.

Sorry, it's joke.
However, the two points I pointed out are true.
If you incorporate "Daisan", the movement of pulling the bow will be stable.
If you make the arrow a little longer, you can easily keep it pulled and aim easily, and the trajectory of the arrow will be stable.
