when you don't want your teammate to get an interception

During the college football game between Eastern Michigan and Toledo, a Toledo DB prevented his teammate from catching an interception when he deflected the pass away, even though the only player in the proximity was his own teammate who would have otherwise caught an easy interception. Eastern Michigan and Toledo are tied at 7 early in the first quarter.

He did the right thing. He turned around to watch the ball and he broke up the pass. It sucks that he didn't see the receiver fall down and his teammate prepared to catch it, but he was still 100% right to do what he did.

Never assume someone’s there to catch the ball.

Hell of a defender. Nobody catching anything around him 😂

Toledo will forever have some of the cleanest jerseys and the cleanest logo in college football

Toledo’s defense as I remember them. At least they still have some of the best uniforms in college football

A good HS memory. I was at CB, and my "good friend" was at SS. QB threw one that sailed, and the ball was coming my way for an easy pick. My friend jumped across me to get the pick, and he didn't even take it all the way back for the pick 6 😂😂😂

reminds me of the game losing decision when in 2013 two georgia defenders went to intercept but popped it up to the offensive receiver

I'm kinda shocked they didn't call DPI there. Not saying it necessarily is, but it kind of looked like #1 grabbed the receiver and pulled him to the ground, maybe not but maybe so.

I was in the band in this game. We were pretty upset on the outcome of the game lol. I love how I heard a little bit of our dirty deeds quickie 😂

U of A student here, I don't see what's wrong with this? Looks like pretty standard defense to me

It is super tough playing secondary-that's where they started me out. I talked my way onto special teams and after I returned a kickoff 90 yards, coach realized he made a big mistake and switched me to offense.

i was at this game a lot of plays were upsetting and could’ve been game changers

This would only make sense if it was late in the game and they were winning but he just was like "Nope"

Based on the clickbait title, I figured this would a 4th down and long where the smart teammate would prevent the dumb teammate from losing 50 yards by picking it off instead of letting it drop.
