Some Corrections:
1. P1_0 = 0; makes the port 1 pin 0 LOW thus making the led turn ON and P1_0 = 1; Does the opposite i.e. turn the led OFF.
2. Breadboard Circuit provided for Arduino shows incorrect pin connection to the Power from Arduino. The circuit in the repository shows the correct diagram so follow that.
