Hi Gurpreet, Take multimeter and check voltage around your microcontroller's power pins (VCC & GND, i am sure this happen due to loosely connected power pins which failed to power your microchip.

Also make sure your programming pins should not short while flashing microchip by programmer.

If in case it still doesn't work then provide me more details about hardware that you're using

I am trying to program atmega1280 using isp and for now i am having avr usbasp programmer...while burning the firmware to the target chip, I am receiving errors like "Power On Failed" and "Cannot communicate to target chip".
I am not using any external power supply as you have shown in your video but still i am able to receive +5v at the target controller Vcc pins.
Can you please assist me and point out where I am going wrong??
