Since we're in lockdown I thought I'd do another long video to help you all kill a bit of time. This is all about cold hardy winter mushrooms that you might be able to find right now while out on your exercise...

I’ve never committed on anyone’s videos before but I wanted to thank you for growing my interest and expand my knowledge of mushrooms. As a gardener I’m embarrassed not knowing the fungi that I find growing around me. When I found your videos last summer I delved in and for the first time ever, this past November, had the courage to try my first wild mushroom. So THANK YOU for this and all of your videos was what I really wanted to say, that are very much appreciated.I may even have to treat myself to a copy of your book as you promoted it so well. 😉 ps the mushroom I tried was a velvet shank 👍 looking forward to the next video.

At 6:50 it calls “wood ears”, in the south of China it rains a lot. We could find it everywhere. So for the older generations saying not good not safe to eat fresh wood ears. Some people got the allergy or toxic when they cooked it fresh. We always drying it first, then cook it later for safety.

I miss taking my grandsons out on mushrooms hunts as they are now at the age where I was when I joined the army. So much free food is right under our noses and its better than what you get in the shops.

My daughter and I may have spied you making this video! Although, we did not know about your channel at the time.

My daughter is currently learning how to identify wild foods, including mushrooms, and content like this may help save her life one day.

Cheers!

Hi Marlow. First time to comment on your channel. Have been watching your vids for a while. You don't post videos that often. When I saw it was a 40 minute plus video I was happy. Love the vids and the baby. Cheers
