Ubiquiti just dropped a brand new switch and it's a awesome! The Flex 2.5G PoE fills a gap in their lineup, offering a smaller PoE switch with blazing fast speeds. 🚀

In this video, I unbox and install the Flex 2.5G 8 PoE, putting it to the test in my studio network. I'll also compare it to the Flex Mini 2.5G and the Pro 8 PoE to see how it stacks up. 🤔

Here's what you can expect:

Unboxing and overview of the Flex 2.5G PoE 📦
Key features and specs (including PoE++) 💡
Installation and setup in my studio network 💻

Layer 2 vs layer 3, although to be fair, you need to use quotes on “layer 3”.

Looking at buying a couple of these however cant find much on managing the device, can they be configured directly/outside the cloud platform and do you know if they support vlan trunking? Cheers

you can't use both the RJ45 ethernet port & the SFP+ port together. it's a combo port, meaning both are connected to a single port internally so only one works at a time. So you can use either the 10Gbit RJ45 port OR the SFP+ port, but not BOTH at the same time. "Combo ports offer the ability to use either copper (RJ45) or fiber (SFP) connections on the same port, providing flexibility in network deployments.
Shared Resource:
The port shares the same switch fabric and port number, meaning you can't use both the RJ45 and SFP interfaces simultaneousl"

The pro 8 is layer 3, I grabbed 2 Flex 2.5g, speed boost and massive POE budget. I wish there was a fanless rack 2.5g POE, ill just wait for 10G I guess

Do I understand it correctly that this is actually a 9 port switch where you connect the router into the 10Gbe port and then have 8 free 2.5 gbe ports to use?

Would it be possible to hook the poe input up to a Pro max poe switch, with only poe++, and still get the poe working, although with limited power output?

I got the cloud gateway max, Switch flex 2.5 poe, and access point u7 pro. Do I really need the pro 8 Poe, I think it will be over kill but pro8 poe has more features. Will it just work
with the 3 I have? Pls advise . I am new at this and Ubiquiti has plethora of combos. Thanks. I forgot to get the 120W PS . Out of stock and waiting. :(

what about the combo RJ45/SFP+ Port? Can I connect both Ports and they share 10 Gigabit or do I have to decide which I will use and the other one is shut down?
