In fairness, many truckers actually enjoy driving their own trucks and spending most of the time on the road. What's boring for some, it's a joy for others! Nothing beats the peace of being away from people.

As a trucker I can say without a doubt you have a lot of misinformation in this video. Long haul truckers make much more money then short haul routes, as trucking company’s pay a premium for having you stay away from home for days and weeks at a time. 47, 000 is the starting wage, and goes up to over 80, 000 a year or more once you have experience

Maybe small trucking companies offer only 47k but my job at Yellow offer 70k for linehaul drivers. So you should update your information on that. Walmart offered 85k and now offering 110k for drivers too. so its def more worth wild than before.

Something to think about .. if trucks successfully become completely automated, then there'll really be no need for the cab. Just outfit containers with wheels, batteries (under the container floor) some sensors and cameras .. and send them down the road! Will be interesting seeing a bunch of containers rolling down the road on their own.

I make around 7k a month with my own trucking company, why did u also say that trucking is brutal, when its bittersweet. I probably will never elect to have a different career. Trucking is freedom, I get to go literally anywhere I want. take vacations whenever I want. most experienced drivers (even working for companies) are making more than 70k a year.

The roll out for electric will be mostly, Local delivery 1st, close regional 2nd, Regional 3rd, OTR to be determined with future battery tech or charging in place ! self drive will be last !

The best solution to the shortage of truck drivers should be cargo rail. Especially on high traffic routes, reducing reliance on heavy road vehicles reduces the wear on road infrastructure. It is also faster, safer, more efficient and, like trucks, has the potential to be run on electricity.

For example, for sections of rail that pass through well-serviced areas, you could have overhead electrical lines to charge the locomotive's battery and in the future some high-efficiency, lightweight panels could supplement its range. For the rest of the track's length, the train could be run off those charged batteries. They could also charge during the long wait times between loading and unloading.

I've heard from people who work with and talk to people who actually make bank as a trucker. I'm told owning your own truck is where the money is at, as full time truckers with their own truck can and do earn $4-$5, 000 PER WEEK. I don't know how much a Tesla Semi costs per month after the $15k deposit, but I imagine its roughly $4k per month, leaving you plenty of room to profit massively off a salary like that. Add on to that the idea of being able to reduce the job to vehicle supervision and scenery observer with Tesla's autopilot, and I'm seriously considering getting my CDL 🤫🤑

Thanks for sharing details about Nikola. Having bought TSLA which is up 27X since purchasing, I'm glad to be in on NKLA likewise...

So how will these electric trucks do in the northern states in snow storms and there sensors getting covered while going down the road. It happens in cars that aren’t electric.

2017: „The Semi will be shipped in 2019“
2022: „At least 4 have been built…but these could be renderings“
great stuff 👍 definitely worth a video

This truck is fantastic, it prevents blind spot in the front

FSD for/with a full truck load seems to be another whole FSD problem that would need to be solved after the S, X, Y, and 3.

Plus parking at each dock autonomously is another problem. Each dock is soooo different and uniquely hard to do correctly

Self driving Achilles heel is that for it to work the computer has to assume that the tires have consistent friction with the road. Throw in snow, rain, or intermittent icy spots, and that requires something with judgement to determine how quickly a vehicle can be steered, braked, or accelerated

1:32 Looks like Frito lay might be testing the waters with both Tesla and Nikola (to see which they like better I presume), as Frito Lay was spotted with one of their trailers on a Nikola BEV on the highway

What's that saying?...'Fool me once, my bad or something, fool me twice...umm...I'm stupid for not unsubscribing, fool me over & over again & I haven't yet unsubscribed...damn! I'm a dumb dumb. I keep hoping for better...duh me but it's free, sorry The Tesla Space it was nicely done but faux not news.

You really should consider TuSimple as major players in the truck market
