How to Sight In the Burris Oracle X CROSSBOW Scope!

Had a bunch of questions about it, so here you go! I look at "truing" the scope in this video.

This channel is about my love of the crossbow, hunting, and the outdoors. I hunt exclusively with the crossbow. I love it and I aim to help you love it, too!

Look for my new book in August, 2022.

Bunjie (The O.B.) is a 2010 Excalibur Axiom Crossbow. After more than a decade of killing deer, hogs, squirrels, woodchucks, and even a bear, Bunjie is now semi-retired. Enter Bunjie III (or Bunjie '21, Bunjie 3.0, The Slick Black Cadillac of Crossbows) a 2021 Scorpyd Deathstalker 420, the result of trying various models and looking at dozens of them online for characteristics I liked. It is, in fact, a gift from a Friend of Bunjie, which goes to show how important Friends of Bunjie are to this channel and what an impact they can have. Bunjie III is a testament to modern crossbows, producing over .7 slugs of momentum and almost 140 ft-lbs of kinetic energy with stock arrows--at nearly 400 fps!

Bunjie, Jr., is my daughter Genevieve's crossbow, an Excalibur Micro Suppressor 355. This crossbow was also a much appreciated gift from a Friend of Bunjie, and it changed Death by Bunjie forever by inspiring Genevieve to become a part of our story as a second-generation crossbow hunter, and it also convinced me there is a benefit to a newer, faster crossbow (see our 2020 Maryland Doe Hunt).

Again, I am not sponsored by these companies. I am sponsored by Friends of Bunjie! (I'm not asking for gifts whatsoever--please don't feel like you should send me stuff! But I do appreciate the support I've received over the years! I'm just trying to express my appreciation for that.)

All Hail Bunjie!

You didn't talk about the blinking led when adjusting elevation. You shot at your already programmed settings for 1-4. Can you talk about/show changing and saving elevation when 1st sighting in? Thanks for the video very helpful

I watch a lot of these type videos. You did an amazing job in explaining what Burris should have done. Well done!!

Rich,
Thank you for the video on the newer technology available. I am not ready to take that plunge especially for that price. Maybe as time goes by the price will go down or possibly some crossbow manufacturers will include this technology on new products. I do appreciate and enjoy your videos and hope you have a great successful archery season so we can see how the new scope does under pressure!

I’m using front and rear sandbags on a solid table to try and mimic a bench rest rifle set up. Caldwell tack driver bag up front and leather bag in back. This is what I use also for dialing my rifles. Trying to eliminate “me” as much as possible during the sighting in phase. Thanks for the video looks like you are right there.

Rich, could you do a follow up vid on how to go about setting up 2 different bolts in the menu and how to call them up. The manual doesn't really explain it and it is a useful feature of the scope.

I love the video, I have a Garmin Xero A1iPRO on my compound and I love it! I ordered the Xero X1 for my tenpoint turbo S1, but last minute i canceled that order and went with the Burris, because of the fixed reticle and adjustable objective. I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake...? The fact that the burris is half the price is just a huge bonus

Love my 2 bulldog targets. Redid one and was a pain but manageable

Thank you! Your videos are at a good cadence and simplified to help a lot. I'm going back and forth with your instruction and the Burris one to try and work truing out myself.. definitely intimidated and feel like a dummy.
Just curious how far out you are getting good clusters, would consider taking a shot in deer?

The menu seems fairly intuitive. Interesting tech. Look forward to seeing how durable it is.

I have to do some adjustments soon. I got my Spinal Tapps and I'm moving to 150 grain heads. I'll be at 472 grains for this season. I think they will moose out of my Micro 340.

Spent a hour Chasing my 20 yd adjustment around today.. you have to tighten down the locks on the up-and-down after each adjustment Because the scope moves if you don't. Also you can't touch the zoom when You're doing your 30 40 and 50 or you have to start the one your working on over.. Not sure if I actually like it adds a lot of weight to the bow Definitely won't be shooting off hand.

What the maximum range until you run out of scope and lose the dot on low and high magnification?
Obviously not for hunting, but for long Target shooting.
Thanks & great video!
