How To Bore Sight A Rifle At Home & Save Ammo At The Range! | 10 Yard Bore Sight For 100 Yards

Quick & easy method how to boresight your rifle at home before you hit the range. Follow along and see the point of aim & adjustments LIVE as I do it on the SCOPE CAM. That's pretty cool. What I with my FFP scope is get my laser bore sighter and I have a 10 yard stretch in the house. Twist the elevation turret until centered. Let the windage go a little left.

I have Strelok Pro on phone. Input the height above bore, ammo from their library, reticle from their library. Type in 10 yards. On mine, it comes out to 13.4 MOA. So, 13 MOA plus two clicks or 54 clicks. A bit left because recoil against the shoulder will line it up nicely. Slip the turret and line up 13.4 MOA with the alignment mark. Tighten everything back down. Dial back to zero. Then I can check at the range and be no more than maybe 1 click off. Usually not. Adjust windage. Then, I can return to zero and set the zero stop.

tip 2....have a target set up outside your home or other location and check your bore sight at 50 or 100 yards to see if it computes with your 10 yard. You would be surprised at the difference it can make.

Great video .. I have a question, what is the height of the paper target when is tape on the wall ? the same height as the barrel ?

A tip for you....write down the number of click adjustments you make when you actually shoot at 100 yards. You can use this info should you need to re-zero your scope for whatever reason. Next time you bore sight at 10 yards, adjust to that exact spot. I put my bore sight back on after sighting in the rifle and record the actual spot needed for 100 or 200 yard POI.

On my ar-15 450 Bushmaster, when I use the laser bore sight, I run out of adjustments in my scope while boresighting.

I will give this method in this video a try.

If you use this method you will not be on the paper at 50 yards and you will bee extremely low at 25 yards. You need to use a ballistic calculator for sighted in at 50 yards. At 10 yards the bullet will be low, so you want to set your scope that amount BELOW the bullseye.

Question being you have a height over bore of 2" and 10 yards is 1/10th the distance for a 100 yard zero couldn't a person subtract what is equivalent of 1/10 off the 2" so then if you had the cross hairs at .2" off of 2" it could be closer?
