I'm a native Japanese but actually I do not know the clear difference between "sumimasen" and "suimasen. I feel "suimasen" is more friendly way.

It's awesome to see how you have such a love for learning language! That definitely shows and it's fun to watch. :)

I watched this channel some time ago and I couldn't really understand much of the German on the show but now after learning a lot, it makes me happy that I can understand all of it!

My opinion is that, if you like Japanese, and you want to learn it, you should do it. I told this to many people (not necessarily talking about Japanese) and they told me they don't have the time. One hour a day is enough for you to slowly, but steadily, comprehend it. Learn Hiragana and Katakana first. It should take you maybe 4 weeks, more or less. Then buy a book with Kanji and start learning like 5 or 10 a week. Whatever amount you are comfortable about. Of course there is also grammar. Anyway, if you stay motivated, I can't see why you shouldn't do it. My brother learns Japanese and he approves this :D

Sumimasen is correct way to say "Excuse me". Suimasen is kind of a dialect of Sumimasen.

Guten Tag~! I am not sure if anyone else responded with feedback or not.... But here is what I observed~

The "hi" part is pronounced like the English word "he"
「すみません。Sumimasen. すいません。Suimasen」Sumimasen is the proper way to pronounce the word. Suimasen is just what the word sounds like when Sumimasen is said really fast. After years of saying Sumimasen, sumimasen, sumimasen it starts to sound like Suimasen. However, Sumimasen would be the proper way to 'write' the word.

もうすぐ戻ると思います。Mou sugu modoru to omoimasu. Umm. Try to say "Mou" slightly longer and "sugu" is like the woman's name "Sue" and the word "goo" put together.... I wish I could help you with audio on >_<;;;;

Otherwise, your pronunciation, from a non-native Japanese speaker's point of view, is very good. Zehr gut~!
(I have been speaking Japanese for almost 10-years, and I had lived in Japan for almost 3-years. Also, my major at University was Japanese.) ^_^;;;

Your language talent is really amazing!

And as a foreigner (Chinese) living in Japan, who has also been learning Japanese(now I am reasonably fluent in Japanese), it is interesting to observe how others learn Japanese. One thing I discovered is that my mother tongue helped me a lot when learning Japanese since there are tons of vocabularies have the same(or similar) Kanji in Japanese and Chinese. So for a non-Asian people it will be potentially harder to learn Japanese but FIGHTING!

Now I am learning Deutsch just as hobby and I believe there must be similar phenomenon in between English and Deutsch.

oh my goodness yay! You did excellent! Great pronounciation! My best friend is nearly fluent in Japanese and whenever I speak to her sometimes she speaks in Japanese to me without realizing it. So I learn stuff from her. :D
Can you read and write in Hiragana and Katakana? They aren't hard to learn as long as you can see them like pictures.

とてもすごい!
I also found it funny to hear a German say "Japanese people love their work, don't they?" Since Germans are known for loving to work as well.

german tounge is similar like indonesian tounge the spelling like A I U E O and quite same like Japanese tounge as well. that's why we can relate each other in spelling things.
