I can see this being extremely useful for character models and other things that use the destructive workflow of Edit Mode.

having previously only made geonodes modifiers, I have dived in and found this fantastically useful for creating little interactive mesh edit tools that massively speed up some modelling and mesh repair workflows I have, ones that no add-on seems to cover. There's so much utility and potential here, and the naysayers completely miss the point in thinking that the only purpose of geonodes is to be 100% non-destructive and non-contextual. I just wish the Viewer Node and socket inspection worked for Tools like they do for geonodes Modifiers. But developing the nodetrees as modifiers and then pasting them into tools works, although you then have to re-work them a bit with the Tools-specific nodes. Thanks for getting me started

I would love to see more of this and perhaps a series of useful tools/mods to extend the existing blender setup.

Great tutorial!
I bet you it's the external hard drive that's making the tools laggy. It could be both but most often if your computer is accessing a file via an external drive it's going to read that data slower than if you were to take it and put it into your blender folder under program files or wherever you have the local blender program stored.

Hi, I have been following your tutorials from long, they are great. I wanted to understand...
1. Which is more easy or beneficial creating things directly with Geometry nodes? or using Python scripts to make geometry nodes?
2. Can we create every geometry node with Python? or are there limitations? It yes, then isn't it better to create Geometry nodes directly? as they as visual way of programming? Rather that coding them in Python and then using them? I really wanted to understand if Python based Geometry nodes helps something extra... I tried to search answers on internet but in vein.

You mentioned that you don't know of another software that allows tools to be created like this - Unreal Engine can with it's Widget System (and PCG etc)

Geo Nodes was a huge step forward and towards non destructive modelling, this new tool feature is a step backwards. I think every second they put into developing this, was a waste of time.
