Cliffy Young -- Albert Ernest Clifford Young participated in the 1983 Sydney to Melbourne race at the age of 61. The race was 875km long ( 544m )
He was a farmer and when he strolled up to the starting line, in his gumboots and jacket, everyone looked at him and laughed. They thought he was a silly old man with no idea what he was getting in to. Little did they know...
While everyone else ran for about 18 hours and then slept for 6, Cliff never stopped running.
He ended up running for 5 and a half days straight. Smashing his competition and breaking the course record by more than 12 hours. Legend.

Another great trip mate. That place would have to be one of my favourite spots. Sad to see how badly affected it got in the fires. I was there about a year ago and was shocked by how much it had changed. What was once head high heathland, is now ankle high grass land. Will be a long time before it's back to it's former glory. Look forward to the next one mate. 👍

I remember Cliff Young, what a legend!
Many of our hard working farmers are made of pretty sturdy stuff...
We must have visited the campground, not much longer after yourself.
We only did and exploratory out-n-back. The creek crossing was much higher for us - we had to take our shoes off to cross.
You made it look so easy... lol
It's a new area to explore for us - Kate Grarock got us hooked.
And of course, now there's your videos to enjoy as well...
