Last episode left us scratching our heads over those two strange trees in the Garden, the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge. In this episode, Rabbi Fohrman begins answering our questions on the beginning of the Torah through the help of a clue found all the way at the Torah’s very end – and in the process, develops a single, paradigm shifting theory that re-envisions the very layout of the Garden itself.

Interesting proposition. Can't wait for next episode to see how this might fit together. Until then I remain skeptical but most curious.

It’s the 2 stone tablets the tree of life is the first one to love Elohim the second is the tree of knowledge of good and evil to love your fellow man as your self . Man lives not on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of YAHUAH .

A very interesting contention if those two trees are one tree than Adam and Eve are no longer Barey Mita cause they have the eternal life even though they sinned by eating the fruit of the good and eveil????

During Ben Franklin's time they thought trees gave off a noxious gas and shouldn't be too close to your house.

This is paradoxical! This is part of the Torah, and the failures afterwards are also the Torah. So how do you get out of that puzzle?

Is continued access to the tree required to acquire sufficient knowledge? Is continued access to the tree, somehow needed to remain alive? If this tree is the Torah, and the Torah is life, then why does it not give life to those few who learn to be perfect in it? (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Jōb, Samuel, David, etc) Perhaps these individuals are alive in a different way. 🤔

Trees also breath IN. They combine carbon dioxide with WATER and LIGHT to make the sugars and carbohydrates that compose the fruit that feeds us. Water/rain/geshem and Light/Ohr come from Hashem. Our breath is given to us from Hashem. When we breath we are participating with Hashem in the creative process of boreh pri h'etz. Tikkun Olam.

Good lessons !
I think that the written Torah and ultimate clarification by Tanach, constitutes The tree of life. By eating from tree of knowledge of good & evil; mankind must obey written Torah. Why ?
Hoshea 6:7; Iyyov 31:33 cite sin of Adam, who first sinned by adding and subtracting to HaShem’s command ! 5 verses in Deuteronomy and about two dozen in Tanach FORBID this !
By do what HaShem truly says, we repair this breach (Isaiah 58:12) between us and our Creator. And then HaShem annuls the covenant with death !
Moshe striking rock instead of raising his staff and speaking to the rock is this sin of Adam ! And Moshe was punished !

Idk I still think they're connected somehow. Both trees are in the midst of the garden. The book of sirach says that God gave the Israelites knowledge of good and evil, and also said it was the law of life. I read a theory from a rabbi recently that the tree was the tree of knowledge at first then changed to the tree of life after they rebelled. Torah doesn't even say that Adam and Eve knew of the tree of life, Moses tells US it was, but it never said Adam and Eve were ever aware of the "tree of life".
