Your feelings about the connector design and placement are on point. Fully agree.

This is definitely not a repackaged Creality CR Scan Lizard. Just because it has the same sensor array, same proprietary plug/USB cable, same turn table, and same software, does not mean it is the same thing. Look the tripod mount is on the side instead of on the bottom; it is totally different!

Very interesting video. I was at a conference in which there was a hand scanner (very expensive) used for reproducing old outdated aviation parts. The scanner was fantastic and the one you reviewed did a very nice job for the price. They used small peel and stick targets to get this old phone sized scanner to produce fantastic images (expensive post processing software). The scsnner you reviewed would be great for the hobbyist. Thank you for your time and video.

I'm undecided about buying and seeing this video I still have doubts, I thought I'd see something more in this presentation. I would have liked to see if and how scans on large objects or whole people would come about. I think if I don't find answers I'll have to look elsewhere.

Eric, first time viewer here. First impression, my god, what have I clicked on with this crazy old guy who is about to cannonball into the technology deep end of the pool. But fsck it, I'll give him a chance. And boy was I wrong. Excellent review about the salient points of usability, first review I've seen where someone tried different textures on the same object (how many scanners have been slandered by the application of mottled texture matte "scanner spray"?). You are spot on in the UX department - I used to work as a mechanical engineer with some very brilliant industrial designers and you are a sharp one. I'm guessing that unfortunately located port was the result of a diktat that the port be on the bottom, invisible to the product photographer / 3D model used for ad copy. I'd like to see how this scanner performs on a larger item, e.g. a car fender, with sparse detail and few locating features - probably it takes a while to scan by hand while monitoring your progress on screen, but does it lose tracking a frustrating number of times? How does it perform regarding processing time and memory usage? It seems scanners that produce great results on a turntable can be incredibly frustrating on objects that don't fit on a desk.

That's really interesting. can you make a hand or foot scanning. want to check the details that captures. Really appreciate your effort. Thanks in advance.

Still watching. I'm so glad I subscribed to you. This is the first I've heard of this. I've bought 2 consumer level scanners. I'm still looking for a good one . Would love to see your workflow used for scanning in general

Good review.
Good price point that produces very good results - but as you highlighted, there are a lot of holes in their design plot. They are almost there. This needs as you said, a screen and wireless options.
Seems like something like this could be clipped on the back of an iPad - wired or not - and give you all the view you need to complete the scan even if you need to take it into "real" software to complete your work.

Great review. Agreed entirely about the poor ergonomics on the cord connection and tripod setup there!

You can add a smartphone to it with the connect module

I'm exited for the Seal and Seal Lite launch. They promise 0.01mm accuracy for a consumer product. It's ment to come out by the end of this month. I will be waiting for a review!

I saw in another video that you can use the turntable without using the tripod. So you can manually adjust your scan angle holding it in your hand while it turns for you, instead of you walking around the table.

Hello, I have seen the video, and I have the same scanner, but I do not get the same result, despite trying various configurations, and in other videos I have seen that it can be caused by some files in the folders that are installed on the computer, that is why I wanted to ask you if I could tell you what folders it is and the files, if you could share them with me, thank you

The Specs say
Single Capture Range: 200x100mm
What does that mean? Is that the maximum size of the scanned object?

I wonder how suitable it is for scanning larger things like for example the engine bay of a car.

Should I wait for the new Crealtity CR-Scan Ferret because it looks promising on paper?

Interesting. I was interested at the $330 you mentioned, but going to the site they now want $584, which suddenly and completely sapped my interest in it. So not only do they fail on design decisions, but the marketing department is not so stellar either. Maybe the same person in charge of both?
Too bad. Not your fault whatsoever of course. Sincere thanks for the effort.
