Richard might be the money man and face of GM, but it was Aaron's skills that really made the projects come together. They were a good team.

He finally realized that he is the talent and Richard Rawlings is raking in the money based on that talent... it was a smart move to go on his own and do his own thing for himself

After Aaron left Fast and Loud the show was never the same. I watched a few episodes of Aaron needs a job and I didn't care much for it. Aaron and Richard Rawlins together made the show Fast and Loud worth watching if you ask me.

I think when they were small, it was more like a partnership. After they grew and demands of that growth took hold, the situation turned into boss/employee and Aron wasn't much for being employee. You could see it the last several builds he did before leaving, more pressure from Richard, less freedom, shorter build times, bigger risks. It wasn't going to last forever burning everyone out non-stop.

I was a technician in many shops of various sizes. The bosses were always reasonable. I don't blame Aaron for leaving. I'm amazed he stayed as long as he did.
Although Richard is a successful businessman,
I find his narcissism toxic and I personally could never work for an individual like him.
This is why those big tool boxes have wheels.
See Ya✌, , wouldn't wanna be ya🖕.
Merry Christmas 🎄 everyone..

Aaron deserves every bit of the success he has attained.

Who in their right mind would want to be part of Gas Monkey Garage? Rawlins is a quick buck artist with no fabrication skills of his own. He calls the guys into a huddle and tells them "here's $20K, in two weeks we're taking this '49 Merc to SEMA." WTF? No, I wouldn't want to be part of his deal for any amount of money.

Aaron was the man who made the machines great that Richard found. While no one has said this, I believe Aaron felt like he was worth more than he was making and decided it was time he spread his wings and reap the reward. I hope he has a great career. He has the talent.

As a guy that watched almost every episode, I think that was a good move for him. The guy is super talented and had visions for his future. And working for some one else wasn't part of it. Aaron's accomplishments speaks for its self.

I visited the GasMonkey garage some years back and got to meet Aaron Kauffman in the lobby. I’m glad I got to meet the talent NOT the loudmouth. Good day to visit I guess.

An older guy once told me, "when you do what you love, you will always have I miss him on Fast and Loud, he will never be employed! Very talented brother!

Things definitely changed when Richard and Aaron had the argument over the Harley, Richard said the only signature Aaron would get was on his last paycheck. Pretty brutal.

It still blows my mind that Rawlings never offered Kauffman a partnership. He was such a big part of that company, to let him walk away, was short sighted, at best.

Tbh, they had a good run. The show ran its course. 5 years is no mean feat. Enjoyed Fast n Loud but not sorry its gone.

I liked Aaron and could see his talent. I couldn't ever work for rawlings. Like a few of the fans of Aaron. I've worked in custom shops a lot of great bosses. Too many people coming and going in GM tells me one thing
Good bosses dont lose Good workers

Bottom line is he's the real deal, a tech, a mechanic, a real builder, and could give too craps about a hollywood life as opposed to doing what he loves.

I remember certain episodes where Aaron would openly make reference to the time frame to finish vehicles. He was being rushed and didn't like it. If he and Richard were distant, I could see there may be more to it. But the fact that they are still good friends, I'll take them at their word and leave it at that

It doesn’t matter what we think. Aaron did what he thought was best for him and he’s done well. I wish him the best in all his endeavors.

Who cares why he left. He's doing what he feels like doing for a while, then he comes up with something else. Leave him be! You can't keep a good man down!
