Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf is an iconic queen of mean and the Upper East Side. In her quest for power and control, she definitely made a lot of mistakes, but she actually got a lot more right than she gets credit for – both in her understanding of how her world really works and in the ways she had to learn to grow as a person. So let’s take a look back at Blair’s outlook on life and relationships, how she changed (or didn’t…,) and the most important lessons she can teach us.

I’m still mad at the writers for ignoring Blair’s eating disorder, it would have been such an interesting plot

Most of my pals wanted to be Serena, but I aspired to be Blair, sophisticated, powerful and intelligent, but with a hidden vulnerable side, and without the bullying attitude.

Her best arc for me was her friendship turned relationship with dan. We get to see her function normally, like how one acts according to their age. We also saw her intellectual side that wasn't shown that much in the earlier seasons. She was carefree, and pressure-free with her moments with Dan. I don't mind them not ending up together, but I wish she didn't go back to Chuck.

I’ve always been a Blair girl. Her intelligence, charisma, super ambitious, evil genius but with a doll like cuteness with a compelling beauty in an unforgettable encounter. I was surprised when everyone wanted to be Serena more.

It was amazing when Dan and Blair bonded and found they had a lot in common, I loved them as friends, but as a couple they were so weird and forced.

No matter how hard they try, they’ll never make an iconic character like Blair Waldorf 👑✨

aside from the fact Gossip Girl was meant to be Eric and not Dan, no really. it was changed at the last minute. Blair was a love /hate relationship. shame that she got with Chuck, she deserved way better than Chuck. Chuck brought out the worst in her.
at least she had Dorota to balance her out. Dorata was the one who practically raised her. also i loved Dorota

Truly a shame how they ended the show. Reversed almost all charachter development, especially for Blair and Serena, and, worst of all, the viewer is supposed to feel good about it. Also sent a lot of bad messages to their teenage audience.

Honestly, when she was with Dan, they were kind of showing the real (snob) side of being a new yorker. Snobs on art, downtown coffee, vesselka, museums, and film art. I know they tryna show how different UES is from Brooklyn but in all entirety, New York City mostly birthed people like Dan and Blair. So it was fun to see actual New Yorker vibe while it lasted.

Disliked this show when it was on, but LOVED Blair! She was one of the best written female characters of the 2000s, hands down!

A lot of people wanted to be Serena, but I always preferred Blair, a classy, elegant woman, very ambitious and intelligent, she is a woman of power who does not need men with a hidden side; her character is much more comp and interesting! ♥️

while blair is a "meangirl" i just always saw her as someone who doesnt want to lose her family, which also includes her friends and while she did want power, she used that for her friends and family.

Blair was always my favorite. The character had so much depth while the Serena character was boring and predictable. It's been several years, but Blair's growth and impact is unforgettable.

I really did like Blair a lot and her relationship with Serena was very complex in the early seasons. My favorite version of Blair was in 5 and S6 with Dan I hated that she regressed so much with Chuck in S6 but I just focus on the good times. I am glad that they recast Eleanor from the one in the pilot. I felt Margaret Colin was able to give the complexity

I didnt really cared for anyone on this show. And i know that this is kind of the point, but they over did it too much on their awfulness sometimes. Blair is a monster and Chuck is a R word (seriously, people seem to forget that he tried to assault at least 2 girls on the show). I dont give a f#$$% if they are a power couple or not. Still better than the reboot for sure.

Blair was always my favorite character in this show, along with Jenny Humphrey! Both hard-working and often overlooked. Very relatable.

Blair and Dan when they interned together at Conde Nast was so much chaotic fun to watch!

I don't think explaining bad traits of Blair by deep sadness and insecurity because of the lost friendship is fair
