This moment, where Madoka begs Homura to not let her become a magical girl. How could Homura NOT be unsatisfied with how things were in Rebellion? There Madoka is a magical girl, the one thing she begged Homura that she did not want to be. I'm sure Homura never forgot that-- even if Madoka did choose that Ultimate Wish, it still wasn't really her _choice._

0:15 I like Homura's resignation to a witch-life here, it's cute she's ok with being witches as long as it's with Madoka. Though I suppose she doesn't realize at that point they won't exactly keep their memories as they are after transformation.

Besides Homura, the best character developement comes in this timeline's Madoka (I count it timeline III).

From agonizing the magical girl's system, killing Mami, to proposing this request to Homura, Madoka changes from sweet-fluffy girl to tough-yet-fragile person. In fact, she is the one who motivated Homura to rewind time to save her former self from Kyuubey's contract. Homura could be the real protagonist because of Madoka. Just want to share. Love this series so much :-)

I hate the fact that it was possible for them to split the grief seed here. It would have given them a chance to move on past this moment as long as they could quickly find another, weaker witch. I wonder how the rest of that timeline would play out if that happened.

Here's an idea for Madoka in this scene... Why not immediately use this same Grief Seed on her own Soul Gem as well? Yeah, it would make Octavia hatch from it again, but, like... Who cares? Homura's fully recharged and could use her time stop ability right away, so both of them would get out of there alive. They also just destroyed the baddest, meanest, most dangerous witch in the world. Releasing one measly regular witch in her place doesn't sound like a bad deal at all.

No wonder they were about to become witches, the city is in ruins, people is death, their family, friends, both failed to defeat walpurgisnatch and they only had each other, something they knew will lose too
