I'm a Glock man but I'll always appreciate and respect the history behind 1911s

Chambered in 40... more like America's meme.

I love how muscle memory made him to try to holster...shows exactly that when firearms are in use the brain needs to rely on muscle memory

Hey, there's worse ways to get rid of a pile of old ammo.

But you really owe it to yourself to get a midgrade or better 1911 chambered in proper .45 ACP before you pass final judgement on the weapon. Then consider it in the context of its time. Think of it as historical martial arts.

I have a soft spot for the 1911. That is the first pistol I've learned how to shoot at the age of 9.

Unfortunately America's gun is a compact sized pistol made in Austria...

I have a rock island 1911 in the lords caliber. 13 years and thousands of rounds it has never failed me

I am a 913A Armament Warrant Officer. Talk all the smack on the 1911 you like. There has never been a better trigger. The slim profile is perfect for conceal carry. The ergonomics are natural and easy. Some are better made than others but as a design it is extremely safe, and reliable. There are many benefits to the glocks. I carry a shadow systems war poet. But I've also carried a 1911, and never regretted it.

I have an old Star BM. I don't even care how it shoots (it does well), I just love looking at the 1911 silhouette. It's just has a very classic, comforting, and familiar look.

First time I've seen Lucas run a 1911. I love my glocks but I also love a 1911 too.

So the 1911 today is what Colt Single Action Army revolvers were to our granddads. Iconic and still useful in our time.

the 1911 trigger is only equaled by the single action army

"... America's Gun, we should shoot it." The simplest and most patriotic thing I have ever heard you say Lucas.

Grew up shooting REAL 1911’s (I.e. .45 ACP) and carried one overseas too guarantee I’d have tighter groups than that. The ergonomics are what is throwing you off, especially if you are transitioning from something with a less pronounced grip angle (such as a Glock, Sig, or Smith and Wesson). I had the same issue (except in reverse because I was used to the ergonomics of the 1911) when I started training and carrying a Glock and a Smith and Wesson as a backup. There’s no “right” gun because everyone’s hand is shaped different. So I always tell people pick, buy, and carry what feels comfortable in your hand because that’s what you’ll be lost accurate with.

Don't understand the 40 bandwagon hate. I love the thing, it has an nice recoil impulse or feedback and a glock 22 holds 15 capacity. It's a mean package and I understand why it ruled the law enforcement space for so long.

Glock guy for yearssss. Picked up a 1911 and loved it. Then picked up the 19/2011 and fell in love. It’s my duty and off duty firearm.

I grew up with 1911's and used them in the war of the 60's, three tours . These days I'm into Glocks . Got my first one for a contract job in 1986 . Today I have a G 30 Gen4 and a G26 Gen5. Never had a problem with any of them . Only changed trigger pull .
