John Dee apparently is the creator of a Secret Society called The Order of The Golden Dawn, and I believe he created, or at least did “Enochian Magic (or maybe called Magick) and he created a script for these Occult Teachings so the Lay person would not understand what is written. The magic supposedly invokes angels, but I believe if they are, it is the fallen ones...and no good comes from doing this, many have not fared well after practicing it, such as Alister Crowley, Jack Parsons, (who died young) and others who tried to use it...
