Funny how I can look at a picture of a landmark in 1910 and go there today and the water is still at the same level.

We have been hearing about sea level rising and cities and states that are supposed to flood for 50 years now. If you watch, An inconvenient truth, you will hear our Al Gore give dates for many of these rises in sea level that are supposed to have happened and they did not happen. The idea that the water levels will rise and parts of the US will fall beneath sea level is based on one of more than 20 theoretical models meant to prove climate change. The problem is that each and every one has failed to meet the minimum standard.
The rising sea levels are supposed to be a result of melting glaciers. Although there are melting glaciers there are also glaciers building ice. You have to have more melt than build up for sea levels to rise. We don’t have that. We actually have new glaciers forming.
That being said, this was a really well done representation of what would happen if the sea levels did rise.

Turn “could” into “will”… it’s just a matter of time if no one acts

I like how they fail to mention that this would be over about a century. There are ways to prevent flooding in that amount of time, the video makes it look like it’s gonna happen overnight. Humans adapt, we always have.

Breaking news, the climate of the earth cycles, it warms and it cools. You are not going to stop warming and ocean levels rising, just like you are not going to stop the next ice age. Focus instead on sustainable development, education, and better products instead of single use plastics that are thrown into the ocean.

Here in NYC the sea level has been the same all my life and I'm 81.

So... We'd gain massive amounts of farm land in areas currently inhospitable to settlement, and lose the coastal sprawl that's already being abandoned due to cities having largely outlived thier usefulness and appeal.

Awesome.

Why never any deserts ? There seem to be signs that water was there before ! Subtle things like sediment, fossils, the Grand Canyon ! You know “clues” !What do the apocalypse maps look like then ? But I guess that doesn’t scare people as bad !

This doesn’t mention how long it will take for it to reach this point.

Still thawing out from the ice age. I wonder why people are buying ocean front homes still?
