Screams into the void: In Genesis, the serpent is cursed to crawl on it's belly. The snake spur thing. I’ve set up breeding cycles for various species of Boa and Python since it’s sometimes part of my job. The spurs are sometimes used during courtship but not all Boas and Pythons of the same species use them. They can absolutely mate without the spurs. I had a male Royal Python that used them vigorously during mating to the point he would cause small wounds on females. I have a male Colombian Boa that doesn’t appear to know he has spurs. I have a male Reticulated Python who had to have his spurs amputated due to an infection and he still mates with females. And here is a bigger surprise. I’ve had Royal Python clutches with a few individuals that don’t have spurs. They have the leg bones that can be seen on X-ray but no external spurs. TL;DR they can be used but definitely not necessary.
